“Nice Atmosphere...Not so good food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2012

My husband took me to the Crescent Lodge for dinner on my birthday. It was a nice place with a pleasant atmosphere. The waitress was nice as well. The food...eh...not so much. We ordered a shrimp, crab & lobster appetizer - it was just ok. I got Chicken Luciano and my hubby got Chicken Florentine (a Special)...THEY BROUGHT ME A CHICKEN LEG & A THIGH!! Ugh...So gross...never have i been served dark meat chicken on a bone that wasnt even remotely tasteful in a nice place like that. DARK MEAT CHICKEN? really? They are very overpriced for such a limited menu and the food is NOTHING to rave about. $21 for a chicken thigh and some green beans? Not worth the money people. :-)

Wow! This place is like going back in time to the 70s, and the decor is classic Grandma floral, right down to the dusty plastic plants. The rooms needed to be re-modeled about 20 years ago. It also looked like the carpet hadn't been cleaned in 20 years. In our "cottage", there was no hot water on several occasions. Each time we reported this, the front desk staff got more and more rude (they need basic customer service training). Other staff there, like the housekeepers, were wonderful. My friend stayed in one unit where the mini-fridge was inches from the toilet! How nice (and sanitary). And this place isn't cheap. I don't know who these other reviewers were that said this place is "excellent" because it simply is not. Go ahead and believe them if you want, but you've been warned. If you don't believe me, at least look at a room and try the hot water BEFORE you give them your credit card!!!!!

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

We live in the area but had not been to the reataurant in many years. Everything was the same. Exactly the same. Unfortunately, some things should have changed. The dining room looks old and dated and in need of some attention. The host was very friendly. Service was very slow. The waitress was nice enough but we seldom saw her. Our dinner plates sat a long time after we were finished and even after they were cleared we still waited a long time before dessert was offered. The meal was good but the veal chop and one of the lamb chops were cooked beyond the amount requested. Except for that the meal was very good. The prices are high for our area. We had one appetizer, two entrees, one dessert and no alcohol and our tab including tip was a couple singles shy of one hundred dollars.

My hisband, and I went here for our 1st anniversary and it was exactly what we were looking for. We were a little hesitant at first because we got it tru groupon and didn't know what to expect. We stayed at the Pinehurts and it was a lovely cottage. Very clean, full kitchen, jacuzzi, and fireplace were very nice to have. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. I know others have commented that breakfast is limited but we have no complains, it makes sense to have a small breakfast base on the people that are staying in the lodge. I will give this place 10 stars, I don't think their website gives themselves the credit they deserve.

My wife and I went to the restaurant at the Crescent Lodge with three other couples this past Saturday night. We're relatively new in the area and have been looking for a really nice restaurant to bring family and friends to. This is the best of the bunch so far. Good food, nice atmosphere and a friendly staff. Apologies were even made for a non-existent delay in serving drinks before dinner.
Very nice menu included a Prime Rib special that my wife said was excellent, Lamb Chops cooked perfectly and raves from the other folks at our table. Fish, chicken and pork dishes were served and each had different and tasty sides included.
All of our our group have been here before and their only disappointment was that a number of appetizers and side dishes were no longer on the menu.
Also very nice to have the owner stop by the table to check on our satisfaction. First of the restaurants we've been to in the Pocono's where that has happened.

I think this has been one of the most perfect vacations I've ever had! The friendly staff takes their time to make it as rewarding and comfortable for you. We stayed at the birchwood jacuzzi room. There is a porch with beach chairs right in front of the cabin. Open a bottle of wine and just relax while the sun sets. The complimentary breakfast is also very delicious (try to head in earlier)! You will not be disappointed!

Another great thing is the location (20 mins from shop-rite, and some restaurants, 30-40 mins away from beautiful hiking trails).

My wife and I stayed in Birchwood jacuzzi cottage for the weekend. It was a perfect and amazing experience that we were hoping for. The breakfast was more than we expected - great start to the day. We visited bushkill falls which was only a 40 min drive from here. Came back in the evening and had a relaxing time in the jacuzzi. The water was a bit hot one day and not so warm the other day. The nature and fitness trail behind the inn was beautiful. Very nice people and a great place for a weekend. Will definitely return during summer.

Room Tip: the jacuzzi cottages are great.
