“Quiet Retreat with Plenty To Do”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

This is our favorite place for a weekend retreat. It's quiet and comfortable and there's a lot do do in the area. Instead of the usual tchotchkes, the gift shop sells antiques and jewelry. There's an antiques shop next door and the food in the restaurant is excellent.

Room Tip: The Jacuzzi in our room was very large.

We stayed in a private cottage for our anniversary..This place is so quaint. It's clean and updated just enough! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! the pool was so refreshing - the grounds are SO well kept! there's a nice walking trail. very romantic! the food was excellent! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the price - we would love to stay more then one night but it's quite pricey but we would go again..

We stayed in one of the suites in the main building. The room was sufficient. I wouldn't really call it a suite, I think they call it a suite just because it's big enough to fit a couch next to the bed. The view was ok, you saw the roof of the building (just black), but then you could also see some of the cottages and the swimming pool area. Room was pretty clean. Could have used a full-length mirror somewhere, there was just the mirror on the medicine cabinet. One evening I think the kitchen was in full swing while we were trying to take showers, and the water kept fluctuating from ice cold to burning hot, which was not fun.

Hotel itself definitely has an older, bed-and-breakfast feel. It is a little far from most of the attractions we were interested in - Bushkill Falls and Lake Wallenpaupack were both about 40 mins away, in different directions. I'd imagine it's about the same distance for most Pocono attractions. We ate at the restaurant on Saturday night. Piano player was great. Food was pretty good - prime rib (a special) was excellent, the rest was good enough.

Probably won't return, next time we'll look for something a little cheaper, and a little closer to our planned attractions.

I was hoping $300 per night insured us , a place that was clean, updated and welcoming.

Rose colored Formica, plastic dusty plants and a worn down filthy carpet and linoleum floor was the chosen decor.
I understand the place should have a quaint county Feeling , but this was downright depressing.
Even the tv was old and as outdated as the paneled walls.
Basically we stayed in an outdated motel room.
I read some of the reviews on here and obviously a lot of people don't know that they should be expecting more for their money.
The pool was filthy and the pool house obviously had it's heyday in the Brady bunch era.
The worst part of our stay was the maniacal cranky staff that doubled as security agents.
They made us feel as though we were doing something wrong the way they watched our every move.
I actually overheard the owner questioning a guest about how many pancakes he had on his plate and complained that the man was bringing one thimble sized cup of coffee to his wife who was back in their dungeon waiting.
After that we were afraid to even get breakfast there , for fear of being embarrassed.
Unless you enjoy a cranky nursing home atmosphere from 1981 , I would suggest you stay elsewhere.

This is our 3rd stay in a bit more than one year. This time we stayed in the main building and our room was spacy and clean. We always have one dinner at the restaurant. I chose the manicotti, which was a bit bland (frozen?0 but my husband had the fish and loved it. The staff is super friendly, the Sunday breakfast buffet is great and the location is the best (hiking trails, Bushkill Falls, Mount Airy casino, etc.): there is so much to do and see. We have been at other Poconos B&B's, but the Crescent Lodge is definitely our favorite, and we will no longer bother trying other hotels from now on!

Room Tip: The best choices are the cottages, of course. We do not need a Jacuzzi, so the Chalet cottage was id...

The old codgers that own and run this lodge are the unfriendliest people and should not be in this kind of business.
They patrolled the complimentary breakfast like it was Fort Knox and would comment angrily. on patrons helpings.
Rooms were misrepresented and any charm it could have possessed was ruined by the stern staff.
Certainly no ones idea of relaxation. We left feeling as though we just threw money in the trash.
It was a bizarre atmosphere to say the least.

We stayed in the lodge for a weekend getaway. The room was clean but dated. Overall shower experience was horrible - first the shower curtain was cut short resulting in water getting all over the bathroom floor - The water temp would go from normal to scalding hot then to ice cold in a matter of seconds - actually screamed a couple of times.

The night we arrived, we had dinner in the main dining room. My wife ordered manicotti and I had chicken parm. When they brought out the fresh rolls, they were yummy and we were excited for a great dinner. Big let down. The manicotti was obviously frozen ones with a bland sauce but they tasted ok. Chicken parm was horrible. Mushy breading and overcooked pasta.

Don't be late for breakfast in the morning, we came down at 9:30 and almost everything was gone and they did not replenish it.

Needless to say, night 2 we had dinner out and skipped the morning breakfast. Drove up to Mountainhome diner. Even though it was diner food, it brew away breakfast at the inn.

Would NOT stay here again.

Room Tip: If you are going to stay here, go for a cottage. They have to be better than the lodge rooms.
