My husband and I stayed at the Crescent Lodge this past weekend to celebrate our 11 year anniversary. It was everything we were looking for! We stayed in the Edgewood cottage and we could not ask for much more. The grounds are quiet, secluded and beautifully landscaped. The cottages are very nicely built and look beautiful from the outside. The inside of our cottage was great as well. Very clean with an awesome old-fashioned flair and homey feel. The furniture was comfy overall. The mattress was a little worn but not terribly uncomfortable. The room had two televisions (one flat screen, one old school), a big boom box and a VCR player! My husband and I enjoyed the nostalgia of it all. We weren't looking for modern appliances in this getaway, but if you are seeking a place with modern décor and room entertainment this is likely not the place for you. The Edgewood offered a full kitchen that was stocked with dishes, utensils, dish towels, dishwasher tabs, and even salt and pepper shakers. The Jacuzzi was sunken (aka very deep), offered dim lighting and felt great. We had a wonderful porch that offered a pretty big shaded area as well as an area for sunbathing (lounge chairs included). The Edgewood sits so that the porch is turned away from other cottages and is bordered by trees and grass, thus offering quite a bit of privacy. There is a driveway so that only you would pull directly in front of the house. There are walking trails right in the back of the lodge. There is a swimming pool that looked very nice and clean though we did not use it. We ate at the restaurant both days. The restaurant was really nice too. It was spacious and offered soft lighting, piano on Saturdays, and a touch of class. Breakfast was continental on Saturday but offered a pretty decent variety. On Sunday, the selection included sausage and was decent as well. The food was fresh and tasted really good. Dinner both nights was great. We had the ceasar salad and butterfly shrimp for appetizers and for dinner we chose chicken parm, rib eye, and chicken gemilli. It was all delicious. The staff were cordial and responsive. Overall, we couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate! We definitely look forward to visiting the Crescent Lodge again!

Room Tip: The cottages are wonderful!

Fell in love with the feeling of being in seclusion at the lodge yet found many dinner choices, shopping, entertainment, casino, and trails within a few miles. Stayed in July and enjoyed the wonderful pool. Outstanding breakfast included and was open til 11:00 so didn't need to wake up at the crack of dawn. Fine restaurant/dining on site. Stayed in the main lodge instead of one of the many cabins since fireplaces and hot tubs were not necessary in the summer (would love to take advantage of them come fall or winter where we would definitely return). Office staff was incredible. They made us feel like "old friends" from the time we arrived til the time we checked out. They spent almost 30 minutes on the phone with us while we were planning trip to discuss each rooming option in detail and sold not only the lodge, but the surrounding areas as well. We would recommend staying in the lodge. Our room was spacious, pleasantly decorated, and clean. Although there are no refrigerators in the main lodge, we were allowed coolers and a well-stocked ice machine was well-located.

Room Tip: Feel free to ask the staff since each and every room is decorated differently and each cabin offers different layouts and amenities.

Our weekend started out great. We stayed in the Edgewood cottage with a Jacuzzi tub in the room. Perfect private location. I believe that the best way to make a reservation is to call directly. I do appreciate the reservation comments others have made. They were very helpful to me. I called and spoke to Steve. Great guy very helpful and dead on with this recommendations for our needs. We took his advise and were not disappointed with our cottage. It was perfect. He even offered to let us check in early if no one had reserved it the night before. Talk with Steve if you are considering this place. We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly woman(sorry did not get her name) and were quickly checked in and shown to our cottage. We ate in the dinning room the first night. Our waiter was very friendly(sorry again can't remember his name). He too made suggestions when asked about the area. Our plan was to go kayaking. We brought our own kayaks. See the kayaks brought conversations with the very friendly people who worked here. Helpful suggestions were made on where to go. Thank you to everyone. Our stay would have been perfect except for an incident with hot water. After the first night we had none. I would recommend to anyone if you have a problem, stay on top of it until it is resolved. Communication is very helpful on both sides. Our problem was resolved once it was determined that it could not be fixed on the weekend. Accommodations were made to get us a new room with hot water. It was a little inconvenient but worked.

Room Tip: Cottages are perfect. Make a call and talk with lodge about your needs.

The Crescent Lodge is a peaceful, pleasant inn with cottages and well-kept grounds in a woodsy setting a few miles away form Poconos attractions. The property has a delightful old-fashioned feel and is meticulously clean and maintained. The restaurant has a nice menu obviously enjoyed by locals and travelers alike, and the little tavern on site is an excellent place to end the day. We will be back.

Room Tip: The cottages are especially lovely.

Crescent Lodge started in 1947 and the reason it is still around is the meticulous care the owners give this beauty and the attention to guests that every hotel should aspire to give. The only regret is that we didn't have more time to stay.
