“One Of The Best Places We Have Ever Stayed”
Reviewed 2 February 2014

My wife and I generally stay at higher end country inns because they have restaurants. B & B's are also on our radar "if" there are dining options nearby - usually within walking distance. This was the case with Abigail's. We were more than pleasantly surprised with this newly renovated 1800's home; we were astounded! Magnificent! We were in Danville on business - we are professional genealogists. Open less than a year, we expect other business travelers to discover this absolute gem of a find in Montour County. Abigail's is a unique home-away-from-home; this is a dwelling that will attract serious B & B'ers as a destination in itself. In a nutshell, this is one of the best places (regardless of price!) we have ever stayed at. In a previous career, I was a restaurant critic, known as the Wandering Gourmet. I was pleased with BJ's, a restaurant just two blocks away. I also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast at Abigail's. There is good reason to believe we will stay at this wonderful establishment again.

We stayed a night at the Abigail House, in the Scarlet Room, on a spontaneous trip through central PA. It was luxurious and cozy at once. The staff were absolutely kind and helpful while being totally unobtrusive. The large soaking jet tub was exactly what we needed after a long day of driving and sightseeing. The breakfast was fantastic! Will certainly return.

Room Tip: Scarlet Room was a fantastic room for a couple. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.

My husband and I stayed at the Abigail House for a night away from our hectic life. We wanted to visit the Old Forge Brewery and this b&b was very close. We stayed in the Scarlett Room and could not have been more pleased. The house is absolutely beautiful and we instantly felt so comfortable the moment we walked through the door. The decor is breathtaking and the bed was incredibly cozy. Carla was very friendly and was kind enough to give us a bit about the history of the house and also suggest some great local attractions. Just about a block walk to the brewery and to Bj's steakhouse where we had a wonderful dinner. We will definitely be going back!

I stayed at the Abigail House for two nights with my mom. We stayed in the Foss Room. The house was welcoming and comfortable. There were beautiful antiques nestled in the modern comforts. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The room was spacious and the bathroom was lovely and extremely clean -- the towels were so soft!! We slept like queens on the luxurious mattress. They had a small kitchen area on the main floor with a keurig, refrigerator with soft drinks, water, flavored creamers etc, a microwave, chips and even fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. My favorite was the massive selection of herbal teas! Breakfast was tasty -- you choose from a menu the night before. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Also refer to their website for local places in the area -- every place we went was right on spot!

I loved this house! The house is all newly renovated, beautifully done and the best B&B I've been in in a long time. Carla is a lovely hostess as are her wonderful helpers - they couldn't have been more accommodating. Rooms are absolutely lovely, comparable to some of the best 5 stars I've been in around the world. From the amenities provided to the tile work, attention to detail and luxuriousness of the towels. Love the tea/coffee service, ability to make you feel right at home from the minute you arrive and attention to what you need. I will definitely try to stay here again - even if its out of my way! And Carla is a great area travel expert - dinner advice was spot-on and convenient. Thank you again.

We made the right decision to stay at Abigail's House last June enroute from Niagara Fall to NYC. Everything we saw from the photos on the web site was exactly as we found it. The house is beautifully decorated and we were treated like VIP's being the only guests in the house at that time of our visit. We had the living area of the house to ourself as, as the owner, Carla does not reside there. The rooms were well decorated , large and the beds were so comfortable to sleep in after a long day of driving.

My husband and I stayed in Abigail's room and our daughter stayed in the Foss room. Carla, gave us her contact no to us because we were not sure when we will arrive there. Despite changing the estimated arrival time a couple of time, she was very accomodative and was there at the house when we arrive at around 7pm. She gave us tips on where to eat and also took us to a tour of the house and tell its history.

Although, we have a little problem with the aircon in the Foss room as it being too cold, everything were perfect, we couldn't ask for more. Thank you Carla for the nice stay!

The inn keepers have taken a house rich with history and lovingly restored the interior and exterior paying attention to every detail.  The rooms are spacious, well appointed, impeccably clean, and extremely comfortable.

Upon our arrival we were papmered with fresh baked cookies and brewed coffee.  The staff was  friendly, extremely helpful, and provided well thought tips of where to eat and things to do, directions included.  Each morning we were served a delicious breakfast that rivals any five star hotel.

From the time we reserved our rooms we were pleased with our decision to stay here.  Elegant, comfortable and tranquil - we will certainly return again.
