Very disappointed in the downgrade of this restaurant! The Black Horse used to be a AAA Four Diamond Restaurant that only served the finest quality ingrediants and was simply exceptional! So Sad!

“Nice restaurant”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

My wife and I were headed to Lancaster and decided to stop at the Black Horse Restaurant for dinner since we have heard good things about it. We sat in the bar and were promptly greeted by the bartender. Our drink order was delivered promptly as was our dinner order. The food was very good in quaintly as well as flavor and the price was reasonable. As we were leaving we checked out the dining room and were very pleased with the atmosphere there as well. A very pleasant experience. We will be back!

“Black Horse”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

Thought it would be a good place to eat and was in walking distance of the motel. Went a little late about 9:30 PM went in and sat at the bar. Bar maid came and took my drink order and was served promptly. Sat there about 10 minutes and had to get up and ask for a menu. Ordered a over priced ribeye with cheddar mashed. Was served in good time but the steak was not very good. The mashed were very good along with the sauce. Very poor service for a Friday night. In ecsense they will let anybody walk in the back door of the kitchen and tell them to cook your order wrong just to see if you will complain

“An average restaurant experience”
Reviewed 22 February 2014 via mobile

We heard great things about this place from other reviews and were excited to try it.

It was an okay environment with random decor. Parts of the decor like the stained glass windows were beautiful! The seating wasn't very comfortable.

Our server was amazing! She had such great customer service and was so joyful. She made our overall experience great.

The food came out and it was average. We got a cheeseburger and a chicken wrap and it was fine but nothing spectacular. The fries weren't very good. It was a little too pricey for the average food.

What we enjoyed most was the drinks and donuts dessert. Great service always makes the experience better.

“Excellent Service, Great Food”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

Ate here in early February the night of the 'Ice Storm', so the restaurant was pretty empty. However, the ambience was still good, the staff were very attentive. The beer selction (their own brews) was excellent. I had the stout, very chocolatey and slightly smoother than guiness. My steak (med-rare) was cooked to perfection, the home-made fries were great. All in all a great meal, at a reasonable price.
