Its a affordable rate because everything else cost extra! WiFi (which is horrible) cost extra, showers cost extra. Roads are horrible! I ripped a jack off pulling in. Staff is very nice. Pool is nice and big. No TV signal or CATV. Our site was nice.

This was our first outting with our camper so we went early season was march or april for opening weekend. Lake was still half frozen lol. Fishing wasnt any good but was still cold out but ponds seemed weedy and shallow. roads were bumpy and washed out but thats mothernature. Whenarrived were told no running water cuz of cold yet which was a pain. Our site wasnt bad gravel and flat my brothers beside us was good also. But inbetweensites whenit rained it turned into a clay sinkhole at least 8 inches of mud. They need to stone everything or something it was gross. Activitys not bad bingo and a free bfast which was nice. Shuffleboard and playground good. Minigolf serious updateimg needef I leaned against windmill and it broke in half wood all rotted. People at desk very nice store and gameroom descent. So id say its not bad but not great.

My wife and I recently stayed at Hickory Run Campground. When we arrived, the very first thing that we notice was that the grass was in desperate need of cutting. Looked as if it had been several weeks since a mower had been around the campground. When we checked in, the staff was very friendly and courteous. When we arrived at our assigned camp site (Tent site) it was tiny, overgrown with brush, and no picnic table. We attempted to walk around and look at the other tent sites but it was so muddy that we couldn't really walk around the area but it was obvious that all of the other sites were flooded out by the recent rain the day before and were muddy and had lots of standing water. We returned to the office where the staff again was very friendly and offered to let us pick out any other site in the campground that we wanted. We were able to find a site where the grass wasn't too bad and set up next to a creek. We were the only campers in this area and enjoyed being off to ourselves. The bathhouse appeared to be clean but old with stained/yellowing toilet seats and sinks with spring loader faucets that turn themselves off the second you let go of it, requiring to hold it on with one hand at all times if you want running water. You have to pay for a shower! There are coin operated machines attached to the showers you have to feed with quarters if you want a shower, I've never seen this at a campground before. I'm guessing there are some water issues at the campground and they are trying to limit water use. The mini golf and shuffleboard were completely overrun with grass and weeds so we were not able to take advantage of either. While my wife and I did enjoy our time in Pennsylvania and the quiet privacy were lucked into, based on the conditions we found things in, the best we can give this campground is poor. It may be better kept and maintained during the busy season, and the staff was very nice to us, but from what we saw, we will not be returning to this campground.

Pool was great for the kids, laundry room is clean and the gift shop is well-stocked. Enjoyed the playground and fishing in the lake. Trailer site didn't have sewer hook and up, but it was private and worth it. However, dumping before leaving was a bit of challenge (on a hill), would recommend fixing that.

Web sight overrates this campground. Pond was stagnet. When it rained our camp ground was flooded. Mud was comming down the hill covering our awning pad. We had a full hook up sight. Sewer systym was a joke when unhooking the hook up became a volcano. Bubbling raw sewage out for a good three minutes. Our sight was next to a creek. the place was a environmental disaster. There is no cable and you cannot get antena reception even with a booster. The fees for the campground were outrageous for what you recieved. Aspecially the additional fee for visitors. We would never stay there again. On a positive side the staff was exceptional. Aspecially Amy.

We have stayed a few times at Hickory Run Campground. It is a fun family campground. They have exciting activities every week end, from hayrides, bing, crafts, and Saturday evening dances. They also have planned dinners, such as the Bull Roast and Pig Roast. We recently addended the Pig Roast. They had quite a turnout. And everyone in the campground bought a covered dish to share. It was a great dinner. Prices are reasonable for this area, and bathrooms & showers are clean. They are centrally located to the Amish Lancaster area. We included a trip to Kitchen Kettle Village on our last stay. It was only a 30min ride. We always enjoy staying at Hickory Run, and so do the grandkids!
