“Did not want to leave!”
Reviewed 18 July 2012

This was our first B&B experience and this place has it all: comfy and clean rooms, good and healthy breakfasts, walking trails around the property, hot tub, beautiful home and common area, cute dog, and most of all a friendly and helpful family. Each room has it's own enterance which was nice for coming/leaving early. Our flight out was very early in the moring, so Liz made us homemade muffins and gave us grapes to take with us since we were going to miss breakfast with them. They made the experience very satisfying and they are very nice people. It isn't the closest drive into the main town, but it was a beautiful drive! I would recommend this to anyone who wants a peaceful and quiet place to stay.

We recently spent a lovely night at the Furnace Hills Bed and Breakfast. I initially selected the place because their website said they could accommodate vegetarians, vegans and dietary restrictions. I'm a vegetarian, and my friend can't eat dairy. Liz was wonderful about fixing us exactly the kind of breakfast we wanted. We had baked oatmeal, fresh berries and fruits, eggs from their chickens (!), and my non-vegetarian friend had local sausage. I don't care for chintzy, floral B&Bs and Furnace Hills was lovely- clean wood, nice open space, lots of natural light. Liz, Ben, Rebekah, and Joanna were great hosts (not to leave out Angus, the very mellow dog). Oh, and the bed linens and towels were exceptionally nice.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Woodland Room because of the good view.

My husband and I went to Lancaster for fabric since I am a quilter. I has headed to Saunders so I wanted to find a place close to this shop. Wow! Did we find a spot! It had everything we needed for the weekend and even more a lovely family to visit with (and dog). We enjoyed our visit in Lancaster, but we also enjoyed coming back to this delightful setting to talk with the girls at night. It was a reminder of how we should all live our lives.

My husband and I were on a weeklong trip through the north eastern USA. After stopping in New York City, Washington DC and Philadelphia, we decided that we needed to experience something different. So my husband found this nice little B&B in the woods. We really enjoyed to stay in this beautyful wooden house, and the hosts Liz and Ben, with thier twi daughters were just the best!
It was the first time since a long time that we were able to sleep with opened windows, since you can't feel more secure, as the Hosts dog Angus is watching! :-)
Liz and Ben even recommended a very nice dinner location to us, which provided delicious german bread and great steaks.

The room was of course spotless and the breakfast was a dream! Anytime we would be back in that area, we would definately come back to stay at the very same place.

We really hope that Liz and Ben can keep their B&B up like it is now, so that many others can experience this kind of hospitality!

We give five stars in any category!

  • Liked — It was just perfect! Everything was great!
  • Disliked — Nothing to say about that! If, that it was the mosquitos. But they are everywhere...........

A perfect "girls" getaway...Immaculate accommodations, great attention to detail, and best of all, someone else cooked...! Wonderful food, wonderful shopping, and most of all, wonderful people.

Ben and Liz were the ultimate host and hostess; and their children, Becca and Jo Jo, made the whole experience a delight...and let us not forget, Angus...the great ambassador for your bed and breakfast stay.

Cannot say enough about the amazing breakfasts and lovely surroundings in Liz' beautiful home.

All in all, a great experience...We cannot wait to come back : )

This was the first time my fiancee and I stayed in a B&B and we were thoroughly impressed! The setting was amazing....a log cabin away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The room was gorgeous, spotless, and homey. The common area was comfortable and clean. And Liz and Ben were fantastic!! We stayed for 3 nights and woke up to an incredible home-cooked breakfast each morning with special baked treats left for us in the evening! They were kind and friendly and such a big help when we needed suggestions for restaurants, sight-seeing, and other things not to be missed in Lancaster county! We not only felt "at home" in their home, but we felt like we left as friends and cannot wait to return. Furnace Hills B&B is not to be missed....it is absolute perfection!!!

We loved the Furnace Hills B&B and our hosts Ben and Liz Ehrhart! Great food, spotless room, homey. We really appreciated being out of the city, near a hiking trail. Loads of birds visit the many feeders on the deck while you relax in the hot tub.
