The Michener Museum in Doylestown is a must see. Wonderful Bucks County Impressionist Paintings, paired with excellent changing exhibitions make for a terrific experience. Weekend Docent led tours will help newcomers to the art world enjoy their day. A terrific gift shop along with the James Cafe, allow you to spend a memorable morning or afternoon at the Museum.

This museum is the best contribution to the Doylestown community. It is nestled in a park-like setting surrounded by sculpture. It originally housed a prison before the redesign. The permanent exhibits are diverse and there is a continuum of special and varied collections. In addition to observing the collections, the museum offers lectures and opening receptions related to the exhibits as well as jazz concerts. This museum has something of interest for all ages and a small-gourmet cafe with garden sitting and a wonderful giftshop filled with beautiful accessories, children's items and giftware.

A great place to get a taste of Bucks County artists and take in any and all of the special exhibits. Becoming a member is an inexpensive, great way to stay connected and on top of all that this special place offers! I love to get a bite to eat in the cafe and walk the sculpture garden - with no worries about parking!! This is also a great gift to give others on your list as you support the arts.

This museum, tucked inside Doylestown, PA, has a nice mix of local and international art. Although I had visited prior to the summer of 2012, I was in awe of the visiting exhibit from the Ufizzi Museum in Florence Italy. The museum continues to show interesting art works in a variety of media.
Additionally, the gift shop is like a mini MOMA, (great for Christmas shopping!)
The food at the cafe was reasonably priced and delicious.
