“Overall, best sit-down dinner in Doylestown”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

We have eaten here more times than I can count and the combination of food, location, price, and BYOB is the best in Doylestown. The menu is small, which is a good thing, since it's not a diner. There are always great appetizers and salads plus unique dinners, like quail. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. We've also eaten breakfast here at least two dozen times. The corned beef hash is great, but the signature for us is the poached eggs with spinach and polenta. It's just not something I can make at home and it's worth the trip in every time. Having lived in the city, this restaurant reminds us a small eatery/bistro in university city, queen village, or bella vista. Get there soon. Do not wait. I have no idea what the bad reviewers on here are looking for, but if you want a thousand choices of giant portions for cheap, just go to Outback and leave the tables at good restaurants open for us.

“Uncomfortable, run down outdoor furniture, pricey bland food, depressed waitstaff!”
Reviewed 3 September 2013 via mobile

Our party of 6 arrived with a reservation on a perfect summer evening. We opted to eat outside, but the chairs were very old and dirty looking and uncomfortable. Our unsmiling hostess looked worried that too many customers had arrived at the same time. Said she felt sorry for the kitchen. Appetizers were not bad, but small portions for the price. Entrees were bland and unremarkable. Servers did the bare minimum and barely spoke. Disappointing overall.

“Excellent Evening at Vine & Fig Tree”
Reviewed 16 June 2013

Our party of 4 had a really nice first time experience at Vine & Fig Tree. This small byob is located in a row of stores just off the main drag in Doylestown. We joined all of the other diners in opting for outdoor seating (the weather was perfect) and were seated at a outdoor funiture style table with comfortable chairs. Service was friendly and relaxed (which matches the vibe of the restaurant itself). The menu is not huge but all 4 of us found several items for each course thar we would have happily consumed. The menu is geared towards "Mediterranean" which includes some Italian inspired dishes. My wife's salmon entree was perfectly cooked to her preference and my Halibut special was moist, flaky and flavorful. Our companions loved their entrees (hanger steak and rainbow trout.
We spent about 2 1/2 hours lingering over dessert and the wine we brought with us - we were never made to feel unwelcome.
We will definitely return to Vine & Fig Tree!
