We have dined at this restaurant several times and enjoyed the food. While the portion size has typically been modest, last night it shrank to nearly invisible.
The crab and crawfish special was served in a tiny ramekin, and the seafood was indistinguishable from its tasteless sauce. The skate millefeuille had perhaps two ounces of fish sitting between small gobs of spinach. A little dollop of salmon tartar came with one lettuce leaf. And, these were the main course. It seems clear that instead of raising prices, they have skimped elsewhere.
Worse, a party of ten arrived to have drinks at the bar before moving to their table. Because they were on top of us and we couldn't hold a reasonable conversation, I asked to be moved to another table -- not once, but twice. Nothing. There were empty tables (that remained empty), and it would have been very easy to accommodate our request.
It's a shame they have so little regard for their customers. It makes no sense. Although we used to look forward to going to Slate Bleu, we will never return nor recommend it to anyone.
