Surprise! For our two-night stay we expected a modest, clean, fairly dated hotel. What got was a beautifully decorated, spacious, completely equipped (incl kitchen) luxury stay. We were in the "old" wing (NOT) so can only speak to that but everything was perfect. Convenient to wonderful hiking and gorgeous drives. In town, breakfast at the Jolly Trolley and dinner at the Whistle Stop coupled with lunch in Forksville made for a perfect weekend.

Room Tip: We were in room 206. Friends had 205 which was smaller but equally well appointed and comfortable.

My husband Michel and I have stayed at Harrington in Dushore on wednesday sept. 11th ,2013.
We were most satisfied with the ambiance and the beauty of the hotel. The rooms are so very stylish and even though we were given one of the smallest room, it still did felt like we were in a suite. Small kitchenette area with fridge and microwave, dishes and everything needed should you decided to eat in . The hotel is very quiet and the bed was very comfortable , and at breakfast we had a very good variety of food . We enjoyed our stay at the most and we recommend it to everyone. The '' fussiest'' person in the world could not find anything wrong with Hotel Harrington. Many thanks to our hosts .

This hotel is inbetween rickets glen and world's end state parks. Although the town itself was little run down (most are around there) this husband and wife team made a wonderful hotel out of an old bed and breakfast. Everything was clean, beds were very comfortable, they have a nice set up for breakfast. We spoke with the owner for a while this morning and his goal is to help bring the town up and thriving again, and he's doing a wonderful job.

Recently had to go to Dushore, PA for a funeral. Knowing this is a small town, we were concerned about finding someplace to stay close by. Fortunately Hotel Harrington had availability. We were pleasantly surprised upon check-in at how modern the hotel was. The staff was very professional. We were given a room ahead of assigned check-in which was great because we had to get ready for a wake. The only room available was an accessible room, but it turned out to be a very large room on the first floor in the new building. We were surprised by how modern and high-end the room was. It also had a large mini-fridge in the room, which was perfect because we needed to put some items in the freezer. Because we had an accessible room, our bathroom was slightly sparse. The bed was very comfortable, and the room even had a recliner. The wifi worked well and was free with the room. Only suggestion for the rooms would be to have sheer curtains in addition to the blinds. Our room was on the first floor facing the street. It would have been nice to allow some light into the room while changing, but we could not keep the blinds open because people would be able to look right in.

We did get to see into some of the rooms in the older part of the building and they had also been updated to be very modern. Those rooms were probably a little more fun because of the contrast with the modern appointments against antique architecture.

The breakfast room was large, modern and bright. There was a great selection of items for breakfast. Scrambled eggs, sausage and French toast had been made, and there were a variety of cereals and breads to choose from. There was free coffee available, however there were also a large assortment of k-cups available for a dollar if you had a specific liking.

My only suggestion for breakfast would be to have a large milk and creamer available. I had to open a personal-sized milk to put some in my tea, but I didn't need the rest. I felt bad being so wasteful. Also, I would have preferred to see a carafe of juice instead of the individual canned items. But that is just my preference. I'm not a big fan of canned juices.

Overall, we had a great stay and the location couldn't have been better for our needs. We were able to walk to the events scheduled for the weekend as well as a few places to eat.

We think your suggestion for sheer curtains in the rooms is an excellent one. We've ordered some sheers to put up and we're planning to get them installed by the end of next week. Thanks for the tip!
