“Don't bother with this place”

I'm just glad that we were self contained. Didn't need to use the toilets and showers. The other people we came with weren't so lucky.

There were abandoned trailers, dirty bathrooms and the pool and mini golf area were a joke. There was garbage strewn all around the dumpster which was in plain site of the office. In the evening, the raccoons would get to the garbage. I don't know if it even had a lid.

We thought it would be crowded because it's not too far from where the Pocono 500 races were held. It was just about empty! Evidently the people who go to the Pocono 500 camp elsewhere. We will too. We thought we were lucky to find a place so close to the races, but now we know it wasn't luck at all.

The pictures on the website do not portray the actual conditions.

The campground is located in a very pretty area of Pennsylvania, but the people who run it don't seem to have any pride in it.

I booked a group here in May based on their very impressive website, only to find out it was a dump! We haved camped at lots of campgrounds over the years & this is by far the worst campground we have every stayed at! The owners/employees were rude from the start. They could be shut down by the state for so many issues it is not even funny. They burn trash in a makeshift fire pit just outside the store where they have a tot playground 5 feet from the burning fire! They have a playground that was pulled out of the ground & all equipment is lose & a hazard for anyone to play on. All campsites had poison on them. The pool was supposed to be open but they couldn't say whether it would be open or not, only to find that it was so cloudy & dirty you couldn't see below 8" & worms were floating everywhere! The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting & not one of us showered the whole weekend! The bathrooms stank to heaven high & only 2 of the 6 toilets worked, as they have a major septic problem. Do not go by their website or brochures. From what we understand, it was a nice place until about 3 years ago when new owners took over & have been driving it into the ground ever since. STAY AWAY!

As far as campgrounds go this has got to be one of the worst I have stayed at. Pictures on website are very disceiving. Not well maintained. First of all only some of there tent sites are numbered so very hard to locate your space. Very overgrown, roads are not kept up full of potholes. Bathrooms are even dirty for a campground. Only one soap dispenser worked and that had watered down soap in it. Mini golf was so overgrown you couldn't find your ball in it. Quiet hours not enforced. Lake is very far walk and you have to leave property to get to it by car. No bait in store either. Kids that work in the store also have a little attitude, when we told them the pool was dirty they were sarcastic. I could go on and on but you get the picture. I know its a campground but this was a mess.
