We took our 5 & 3 year old grand sons for the first time this past Sat.. We bought advanced tickets on line from Crayola and saved $2 on each pass. With the printed passes we went right in and didn't have to stand in the ticket purchase line.

We got there as soon as they opened and went to the 4th floor crayon melting stations first. The third floor has a large climbing area with ropes and tunnels. We visited it twice during our time there! Making a crayon or marker was fun, but we saved some tokens and bought lots of different colors of clay. Cookie cutters and markers (you can write on the clay!) made that a fun area to hang out. After about 3 hours, it got crowded and we were tired. So we headed out for lunch

We appreciated the goodie bags with tokens that we all got (young and young at heart). The staff was helpful and encouraged us all to try every craft.

We plan to get season passes before our next visit. They will get us in a half hour earlier than the general admission and will pay for themselves in two visits. Our grandsons plan to visit at least once a month!

The Crayola Experience is a really well organized fun place for kids. There is something for all age ranges of kids, and it seems like the adults are having a lot of fun as well. Now that the Canal Museum has been relocated, the entire building is Crayola only. My granddaughters had tons of fun, and it nice to have a safe and educational time. The staff is friendly and well attuned to kids. We'll be back with grandnieces I'm sure.....

I was very disappointed with the Crayola Factory. It sounded so very fun, but mostly you wait in line to make crafts. It was really neat to make your own marker and crayon but not worth the trip and money.

at $18 bucks a head you would expect more than three coins to make a single crayon, a single marker and a small lump of molding clay. The biggest problem was the lines though. They allowed in about three times as many people in as they should have. Just to make a single crayon, you had to wait in a line twenty people deep. To melt a crayon into a shape had a 45 min - 1 hour wait. You couldn't hear the person next to you talk unless you were inches from them and your kids couldn't run around at all - we had to hold their hand just so we didn't lose them. We could only stay for an hour at a time before the noise level and crowds started to make the kids want to leave. We went for lunch and came back and tried a second time and it was just as crowded.
Even if there were no crowds, this would probably not have been worth the money. Everywhere you went they were asking for even more money from you. You really had no idea how things were made as all you got to do was push buttons to create your crayon and your marker. The kids wanted to create and play, but instead they just got to push buttons and stand in lines.
I went to this place about fifteen years ago when it was called the crayola factory and it was wonderful. There was a lot to do and it actually resembled the factory it is located near. It was such a disappointment. We did end up getting our money back, with a explanation that they got more people than expected because of the rainy. I will certainly let everyone know to stay away from this attraction.

There is plenty here for those with young children and for those who are young at heart to appreciate; but the day we went, it was much too crowded to fully enjoy. While we don’t believe that any child should be denied the chance to visit, there has to be a limit on how many can attend at one time. With lines comparable to Disney, but in a much smaller space; there were exhibits our children could not experience and entire rooms we bypassed out of fear we might lose them. Our 5- and 10-year-old enjoyed making their own crayon labels and markers and even us big kids enjoyed the crayon making demonstration; but after 2-hours of dealing with wall-to-wall crowds, we left feeling exhausted and given the price of admission - disappointed, as well. If we were ever to consider visiting again, it would not be during the summer or on a weekend.
