“The suite is pretty sweet!!”
Reviewed 8 February 2012

Why would anyone go to one of the chain hotel when you can try something fun? If you love to have room to spread out, the 2 bedroom suite is wonderful. This lovely old building was turned into condos which proved difficult to sell in this market. Lucky for us -- a large "home away from home". It was great to have a full kitchen, 2 comfy beds and beautiful master bathroom, and a small bathroom. The chairs in the sitting area were a little tired but comfy. There was a fireplace which gave off nice heat but the fan was a bit noisy. The downtown area is trying to make a comeback as it is a bit depressed. It has a little strange feel as it is so quiet around there, especially at night. Might not like it if I was alone. There are lovely restaurants in the area, on foot (Setta Luna) or a short drive (MeGs and MaDs - one of the best we've ever eaten in and been all over the world!!) The free breakfast was not exciting, but keep your calories for later! :)

My husband, myself and our two girls ( 3 and 1) stayed over night while in town for the crayola factory. The place is gorgeous! Our room was a two bedroom suite with two baths and full kitchen/dining room and living room with a fireplace. My only complaint is cleanliness. The room was very dusty. Things were not really dirty but just unattended to like it had empty for awhile. Great value for such a spacious beautiful place. Our stay included tickets for crayola factory and parking. You can definitely walk to crayola safely from there. There were also a few
nice restaurant in walking distance. The building was very safe with ample security ( good for this area) decent pool for the kids too! Accommodating staff, would reccomend for sure!

This is billed as a hotel but you're really getting a condo for the price. Absolutely clean. The parking set-up is a little strange but doable and free. Located downtown...probably not the area for a midnight stroll. Rooms and bathrooms are VERY spacious and nice.

Dear 1TheSmith1,

Thanks for the great comments on the Grand Eastonian Hotel & Suites. We work hard to satisfy our guests and appreciate your kind words.

You are right, our hotel was once condos and before that a hotel. It sounds as if you had one of our spacious "condo style" suites, yet we have "traditional" hotel rooms as well. Both are beautiful and as you said "absolutely clean"!

True, we are located in Easton's historic district and footsteps to many fabulous restaurants, shops, museums and the State Theater. This is a fantastic area, I find it safe and enjoyable, but care is always recommended, especially while out for a midnight stroll!

Anyway, thanks for staying with us at the Grand Eastonian Hotel & Suites. Come back soon.

I have stayed in many hotels in the Lehigh Valley and just love the Grand Eastonian Hotel and the town of Easton. The hotel is well located, staff extremely helpful and my room was beautiful.

I have stayed at the Grand Eastonian several times, in both the suites and new "traditional" style rooms. And while I enjoy the spacious suites, I fully enjoy both types of the accommodations at the Eastonian, especially the bamboo floors and marble baths!

Anyway, if you are seeking a quality hotel and a great place to stay in the Lehigh Valley...the GRAND EASTONIAN Hotel is PERFECT!

Dear Howard S.

Thanks for posting your review on TripAdvisor and for being one of our numerous satisfied repeat guests. Your review just made my day!

I am happy to read that you have enjoyed staying in our new "traditional" style hotel rooms as well as our suites. We love being your "FAVORITE Hotel in the Lehigh Valley and that you took the time to tell the world about the Grand Eastonian!

Our new "traditional style hotel rooms" are a big hit with our guests and NEW guests, since they love our location, our style and don't really need a kitchen, stove, and the other offerings.

Anyway, thanks for your comments, your repeat business and your ongoing support of the Grand Eastonian.

Happy Holidays.

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Eastonian over the Thanksgiving holiday to visit family. It was our first time staying here and were impressed. The queen suite that we had was spacious, clean and better than expected. The staff was helpful with dining recommendations. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the shopping around the hotel. We look forward to coming back during the Christmas holiday.

Dear ChicagoUpperWest,

Thanks for staying with us and posting your very favorable review on TripAdvisor. We appreciate both!

I am happy that we exceeded your expectations and that your family enjoyed staying in one of our spacious suites. These are absolutely wonderful accommodations and offer plenty of room for everyone.

When you return for Christmas, ask for one of our "Bi-Level Suites", these have 3 bedrooms, a living room, dining room and kitchen! They cost a few dollars extra, but worth every penny and more!

Anyway, thanks for staying with us and telling the world about your great holiday visit!

Room was tiny could hardly move. Iwouldnt wash my floor with nthe towels they left lying on the side of the sink. I did ask for a manager on my way out, told the lady at the desk she said she would take care of it. Sent emails to the manager and the parent company with no reply. They must not really take much notice of people who tell them like it is. I will be doing alot of business in Easton, Pa in the next few months, we wont be using this hotel again.

Room Tip: They shouldn't have to chose a good room they should all be good rooms!

We have stayed at the Grand Eastonian on two previous occassions, so we thought we knew what to expect, but we were sorely disappointed. The rooms have recently been re-divided so that the lovely one bedroom suite now is a tiny clausterphobic bedrooom without a bathroom attached to the bedroom. There is good closet space in the bedroom, but barely any room besides that. The combined living room, dinning room and kitchen area is very large but very dark. The kitchen is fully equipped and has top end appliances, so if that is important to you, you will be pleased. I would recommend, however, taking advantage of the excellent restaurants in Easton that are a hidden surprise (try Oceans, River Grille and Setta Luna)The bathroom is off of the living room, but far from the bedroom, and is so small that you cannot open the shower door more than half way. The sheets are paper thin and the mattress cover is encased in plastic and when you move it makes noises. The mattress was reasonably good. The towels smell like chlorine. The halls are getting very dingy and the hall carpets are stained. They advertise a fitness center, but the equipment is extremely old and some pieces are not even safe. ( I had never seen a Nordic trak made out of wood before.). There is a pool that looks ok. We stayed during a snow storm and the tv went out in the early afternoon and stayed out until the next morning. While there was a storm, the restaurants across the street had the same direct tv as the hotel, but they had service. The hotel staff was very rude and disingenuos. When we ask for a flash light because we were afraid that the power might go out they said they didn't have any, but that if the power went out we could walk to the lobby and they would give us a glow stick. Finally the rooms all had very poor lighting which made it hard to read. At breakfast we learned that while our room had internet, some rooms could not even get internet. The other guests we met at the continental breakfast seemed equally, or more disatisfied. It is sad to see what has happened to the Grand Eastonian.

Room Tip: If you choose to stay here ask for a view of something other than the street in front of the hotel o...

Dear 1301 Chadwick

I am sorry that your recent stay with us was not up to your prior visits. I also want to correct some of the statements you made in your review, since some are incorrect.

First, ALL of our guestrooms have bathrooms. Everyone!

Second, while we "re-divided" some of our rooms, this was done to our larger 2 bedroom suites. This action created a 1 bedroom suite as well as a "traditional" hotel room. This step has allowed us to offer a wider range of products for our guests and at different price points.

Now, there is no excuse for less than stellar service and if we let you down, I again apologize. Please stay with us on your next visit and if you want a large, spacious suite, we still have many for you to select.

And, thanks for helping us improve our services and standards.
