“A nice experience at HIE Easton”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2012

We recently stayed here while in the area and were please with this hotel. We have stayed at other HIE's before and this rates as one of the better ones. The location is in a small corporate park and seems to be safe. Nearby there are various restaurants and a mall. We ate dinner at Carrabbas Italian restaurant which was less then 2 miles away. The outside of the building and the grounds are all in good shape. The lobby and breakfast area are nicely decorated. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. There were also free cookies and various types of fruit available for free at the front desk. Our room was on the 3rd floor (the highest floor) and was nicely decorated and clean. For the nitpickers out there, the grout in the tub/shower was not immaculate in every single spot and I noticed a small piece of the wall paper in the bathroom was a bit worn in the bottom corner behind the bathroom door. But, as far as we were concerned, that was nothing to be concerned with. The air conditioning worked well and there was a fridge and microwave in the room as well as iron and ironing board. Also in the room was a flat screen TV and Wifi is available if desired. One thing I would advise is to ask for a room facing the front of the building if available. Or room was on the back side and there is a nearby highway so there was some traffic noise in the morning although it was not really loud. But it was noticeable. Our kids used the pool and there were a total of 20 people in it and they had enough room to move around. A hotel staff member kept bringing in small inflatable balls for the kids to pass back and forth in the water and there must have been about 8 of these balls bouncing around. This is the only time I have ever seen a hotel staff member talke the time to interact with people in the hotel pool. It was a very nice touch. There were about 12 lounge chairs and 2 tables with chairs to sit at. Pool towels are stacked on a shelf and there is a shower to rinse off with. Bring your room key to open the door to the pool area. At breakfast they had all the typical HIE choices and they were prepared well and refilled often. The breakfast room was larger then at some other HIE's. We paid a price that was fair and when you add in the 'freebies' that are provided plus the good service, then this place rates as a great choice. If we are travelling through the area again I will go out of the way to stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the third (top) floor and facing the front of the building as noted in review.

Exceptionally clean and friendly staff. This Holiday Inn Express is above and beyond compared to most other similar ones I have stayed in. It is probably the cleanest and best maintained hotel I have ever been in. I think this hotel is a little older but it is so impeccably maintained. There was not a single worn looking or stained ceiling tile in the corridors or anywhere. The emergency lighting is actually in working condition. (I frequently push the test button on random fixtures while in hotels just to see and it is very common that the battery is dead, but NOT so in this case). Even the back stairwells were spotless and they smelled clean. Which is a rarity. Not just the handrails were clean but also the fire protection risers and piping/valves in the stairway landings on each floor were recently dusted and cleaned. I don't think I have ever seen that before. Impressive, very, very impressive. Obviously the management takes great pride and care in this establishment. A true winner.

Room Tip: It's worth the little bit extra to get the King Whirlpool Suite. It was only about 15% up-charg...

My family of 4 stayed at this hotel for one night while passing through town. I'm picky about hotels, and I was very impressed with this one. Nice wide corridors, impeccably clean, friendly staff, and generous-sized rooms. After traveling all day, we appreciated the fresh fruit, coffee, and tea that were available 24 hours a day. A free hot breakfast was included with our room -- we ate on the early side and not many other guests were present, but the dining area seems plenty large enough and was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for a trip to the Crayola Factory, and found it to meet and exceed our expectations. We received a goodie bag of snacks at check-in for being Priority Club members. There were complimentary cookies and snacks at the check-in counter, and juice & coffee available 24 hours. We used the fitness room and the pool--both were great. Our room was nice and comfortable with a fridge and microwave. There are restaurants nearby, so dinner was easy. Breakfast was hot and had a good selection. We bought our Crayola Factory tickets at the hotel, and they were each $2.00 cheaper than at the attraction. We had a nice stay.

This is far and wide the best hotel we have stayed at in all our vacations. It is clean, service was perfect. The room was clean, bedding was right on. Hallways were clean, and smelled clean!!!
The service desk clerks were very curtious, and helpful. They even give you a little welcome bag with small treats, which was nice. There is a pool, small, but it's there. We did not use it, but it looked very clean. The breakfast was ridiculously good, clean, and plenty. They have a pancake machine that dishes out 2 pancakes at a time. You can't go wrong with this hotel, you can't. If you are going to the crayola factory, buy your tickets in advance online. Park your car behind the the crayola factory in the municipal parking lot. If you don't, do not park more than a block or two from the factory. Easton, PA is a shady town. This hotel however, is about 3 miles from crayola, and is in a corporate area, it's perfect.

Room Tip: We always request upper level, near a corner. This helps stay away from the elevators, and people t...

We thought this hotel was great for the value. We went over st. Patricks day to the crayola factory. The room was $94. It included a comfortable, clean room. A full breakfast, micro and fridge and two crayola tickets. The indoor pool was clean and well cared for. They also have fresh fruit, cookies and granola bars available free of charge in the lobby for guests. The breakdown for the value is as follows -Tickets at factory just about cost $10 each. Breakfast for four with a tip would be around $30. Snacks for four would be about $10. So that is about $60 bucks and the room was only $94. So in reality a really nice room with a great location truely only cost us $34 bucks. Pretty good deal if you ask me!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on quiet side, the highway side can get pretty noisy.
