The experience from start to finish is always outstanding. From Chip's greeting at the door and consummate service and attention throughout, to Nok and Tyler's perfection at the bar, to Devon's attention to every detail, all topped off by some of the best food you will ever have... Ocean is the can't miss in Easton. Cheers.

Ocean was supposed to be our destination our first night in town but they are closed on Mondays. Luckily we returned on Tuesday and had a great meal. Appetizers were very tasty. Salad was fresh and large. Main course was filling and very good. I had the short ribs. Very tender and flavorful. Potatoes and onions complemented the meat for a hearty meal. A Charles Smith glass of wine to match and I was a very happy and satisfied customer. One of my dinner companions rated his meal (lamb) in his top five and he travels a lot.

Entering Ocean is like being pulled down by the undertow to resurface into your favorite intimate and trendy hotspot in the East Village.

The menu ebbs and flows richly with the seasons while signature items like Tuna Tartar, Crab Cake with Creamy Dijon & Horseradish Slaw, Seared Duck Breast and Braised Short Ribs are exquisitely hewn from culinary excellence. Expect to be spoiled as I was recently while feasting on Rack of Lamb (an entree special) succulent and dripping from the bone and perfectly roasted, befriended by a peppery Malbec.

Treated like a favored guest at a dinner party, Chip, host and restaurateur, will greet you with a warm welcome and a winning smile, intent on giving you the best his table has to offer whether you’re a rookie or a veteran like me. Full of wit and charm, Devin will tend to every detail of your service with superior knowledge and a touch of class (make sure you ask her about her cat!). Nook will mix, stir, or shake you the ideal libation or muddle-up an ambrotos elixir out of his deep repertoire of cocktail wizardry. The reasonably priced wine portfolio is without pretension, offering excellent pairings with a sommelier’s nod.

Ocean ignites with conversation, laughter and romance, particularly on the weekends where you’re invited to shuffle-off the mortal coil of a hectic week and drift into the sumptuous artistry of Easton’s favored hotspot.

The food is great, nice atmosphere. All good except one huge problem. CHIP!!! The manager, named Chip, is an idiot! After flirting with the women at the table next to us, he never introduced himself, asked how everything was and left. I wondered who he was, asked and was told. No big deal. Then he was at the bar, backed up into one of his wait staff and proceeded to pull the man aside. Chastised him for and I'll quote, "Never stand behind me again!" The man was busy bussing a table, doing his job and got in trouble for doing it. My wife and I overheard this and watched Chip as he walked away. Chip responded by staring at the two of us. I guess we were supposed to be intimidated. We weren't. He finally gave up and went back to the bar and delivered drinks to some women at another table.

So, in summary. The manager got pissed and scolded his staff member for doing his job after he, the manager (Chip), accidentally backed up into him. Then, proceeded to stare down two customers who happened to oversee and overhear the entire incident.
