We came across Ashley's for the very first time tonight, and it definitely will not be our last. Ashley's is a gem tucked into a residential neigborhood and at first glance you would never imagine the culinary treat that awaits you. Ashley and Melinda were both on hand and gracious and friendly. The food was delicious, fresh and the portions were very generous. The drinks were well mixed and fairly priced. We tried a little bit of everything, the Sundried Tomato Cheese spread was delicious (I could have eaten it straight without the crackers!) the bread was fresh and hot and the French Onion soup was some of the best I have tasted. The homemade Pear Viniagrette was terrific and the salad was fresh and crisp. I had the Chicken Picatta and my husband had the London Broil. Both entrees were cooked to perfection and did not disappoint. We saved room for dessert and boy were we glad we did. The Chocolate Cake was moist and fresh and the Banannas Foster was decadent! The ONLY thing that Ashley's is missing is a parking lot, but I will gladly park on the street to enjoy another meal at Ashleys! We will definitely be back!

Ashley's is a cozy restaurant and bar located in the neighborhood of West Ward in Easton. The first thoughts that come to mind when one enters is "neighborly and friendly," and that's just what you get with Melinda, the proprietor, and her staff - very personalized and gracious service, whether you are sitting at the bar and having one of their spectacular sandwiches or appetizers, or having a full-course meal in the dining room.

In many ways, Ashley's might be referred to as "old school", a place where one can get "classic" dishes still served with soup and salad. Except here, everything is house-made, including the salad dressings. And unlike some of the more "typical" eateries, Ashley's uses a more modern palette of gastronomical ingredients. Fresh baby greens instead of iceberg lettuce, e.g. They are not trying to do back-flips or modern art with food here. Instead, they simply prepare classic dishes superbly, with just enough je-ne-sais-quoi, to make them special.

I have taken many people to Ashley's and everyone is impressed by the quality of the kitchen. You really can't go wrong. My favorite dishes, in no particular order are:

Entrees:
Rack of Lamb
Surf & Turf

Sandwiches:
Ribeye Sandwich - the best steak sandwich in Easton, or maybe anywhere.
Chicken Asiago & Roasted Red Pepper Sandwich

Salad:
Grilled Salmon salad with lemon vinaigrette

I am not a desert eater, but all of the house-made deserts seems to get plenty of oohs and ahhs from other customers.

Cost-wise I would say that they are neither the least expensive or most expensive, but mid-range. One can eat from the bar menu ($8-$10 range) or the dinner menu ($15-$30 range) and find something delicious within one's price range. Price per quality, however, makes them an excellent overall value. Cocktails and wines are "healthy" and likewise a very good value.

Access & Parking: the restaurant is very easily accessed from the 13th Street exit of route 22. Because it is in a tight residential neighborhood, sometimes there is not parking immediately in front. However, except on football game nights in the Fall, I have never had to park further than 1/2-block from the restaurant. Enjoy!!

We have been going to Ashley's for 5 years now. The food is top notch. Susan makes everything fresh to order and her homemade combinations of dressings and sauces are fantastic. We love the dining room atmosphere and when we bring out of state guests there, they wish they had a place like that in their town. Melinda and Ashley are very friendly and accommodating. It is always a special occasion place for us to eat and we enjoy it every time. It is quiet (no kids) and much more personal than downtown (River Grill, etc.).

We've been here before, but a while ago. I didn't quite remember how nice it was. The owner, Melinda, greeted us and made our visit a very pleasant one. The food was very good and the service was too. All of the dressings for the salad are homemade and our choices were delicious; honey mustard and 1829. There was a wide selection on the specials board and our choice was excellent. Although the homemade desserts sound great, we were sufficiently sated and anymore would have been overkill. The prices were reasonable and overall we enjoyed our dinner.
