I stayed here with my boyfriend and our dog, this was an over night stop on the way to the South of France.
This hotel is amazing! We thought that we had gone the wrong way during our arrival, it is slightly outside of Cahors, but keep going along the road and you will eventually come to the hotel (on your left if approaching from Cahors centre).
The hotel is in a stunning setting, in a beautiful village called Vers. There is a pretty river running right along side the hotel, which our dog played in (people were also paddling). All of the buildings in the village are absolute gorgeous, the hotel almost dominates it and is equally as gorgeous. There is a swimming pool with sun loungers, unfortunately we didn't get to use this, but there were a number of people using it, there is also a LOVELY restaurant, bar and the reception (in the bar). We were greeted by a friendly member of staff, she checked us in, showed us to our room, and made a reservation for us at dinner.
The room was so quaint! The walls are very thick stone because of the buildings are old, with lovely windows, and a beautiful view. Everything you need, nice big bathroom, towels, even little mints left for us. There are more expensive rooms that are set right on the river, I probably wouldn't pay the additional for one night, but if staying a little longer this would be considered, they also come with a balcony/terrace.
The restaurant was the best we ate in during our whole 10 day holiday!!! I definitely recommend eating here during your stay, however make sure you BOOK on arrival (or when you book the hotel) as it gets very busy with guests and locals. The choice on the menu is great, all food came quickly and piping hot (well not my boyfriends as he had steak tartar). We both had 3 courses and thoroughly enjoyed each one. The service was also excellent in the restaurant (again dog friendly). We sat outside on the terrace. The food was very reasonably priced as well, which made it all the more enjoyable!
In the morning breakfast is a buffet (extra, was not included in our room rate), this was also fab, lots of choice, take as much as you want etc.. As before great service at breakfast.
This hotel is a MUST for a stop over or a stay. We are now looking to return for more of an activity based holiday in Cahors (great for walking, canoeing, rock climbing etc), and we definitely want to stay in this hotel for at least a week!

We visited for one night recently and soon wished we were staying for longer! Although I had read good reviews on trip advisor I was taken aback how great this place is. The setting is really beautiful and the photos do not really do it justice. The hotel has different areas of outside space were you can sit with and coffee, ice cream or beer. Also they have table tennis table and are situated right next to the river so children can go and investigate this as well. The pool was attractive and really clean. Food great; they have a really busy, big restaurant which is great value but I would be sure to book. Already trying to plan a holiday around being able to go back!

Hotel clean and comfortable. Superior room, overlooking river was excellent. Rain shower very good, except it soaked bathroom, not just shower area: Hotel owners beware of possible damage to property.
Restaurant was very good value but locals were greeted before visitors already waiting, no explanation or apology offered!
Breakfast good French style breakfast.
Would return if in his area. Good stopover for one or more night in this area. Sights to see.

Room Tip: Superior room overlooking river, quiet, comfortable, lovely view, worth the extra.

Stayed here one night only with friends & had the superior rooms overlooking the river - perfect! From when we arrived we had a warm welcome & were taken to our rooms which were excellent. Brilliant 'rainfall' shower & air conditioning was really appreciated. Very clean & comfortable. Evening meal on the terrace which was very good. Again the staff were very helpful, efficient & friendly. Pretty hotel in lovely location. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: Worth going for the superior rooms.

Vers is a village on the River Lot, at the point where the River Vers flows into it. The Truite Dorre lies at the heart of the village and is accommodated in several buildings. We had a room for our two night stay in the relatively new block which overhangs the River Vers - the rooms having private balconies with picturesque outlook over this fast moving river, ours being directly beside some rapids on it, so there was a constant background roar from this, but it did not disturb our enjoyment or sleep quality. Room and en suite were quite adequate and comfortable. The major 'feature' of this hotel is the restaurant, where clearly 'locals' are attracted from far and wide (always a good sign). There is a bustling atmosphere with the waiting staff whisking food to tables in the restaurant, the overflow restaurant, and into the cafeteria (which serves as a further overflow). Restaurant food is excellent and portions are substantial. Breakfast is fairly standard continental, and served in the bar/cafeteria.

This restaurant was recommended to us and did not disappoint. The welcome was warm and the staff were really friendly and the service good.

The wine list was quite comprehensive and contained local wines at a range of prices. We had the Logis menu which fulfilled its promise (the fish soup is the best I have ever tasted!)

All in all a really lovely experience.

Came here last summer - and what joy. Having stayed a place before where service was, yeah well nonexisting, we were really suprised by this place from the moment we arrived. Rooms (superior) were fantastic and in the evening even thought the restaurant was full(and a lot of children) all the waitors had time to chat with the customers and always with a smile. Had the set menu included with our room and no regrets there. We liked it very much and just booked a short stay for the coming summer.
