I stayed here with my boyfriend and our dog, this was an over night stop on the way to the South of France.
This hotel is amazing! We thought that we had gone the wrong way during our arrival, it is slightly outside of Cahors, but keep going along the road and you will eventually come to the hotel (on your left if approaching from Cahors centre).
The hotel is in a stunning setting, in a beautiful village called Vers. There is a pretty river running right along side the hotel, which our dog played in (people were also paddling). All of the buildings in the village are absolute gorgeous, the hotel almost dominates it and is equally as gorgeous. There is a swimming pool with sun loungers, unfortunately we didn't get to use this, but there were a number of people using it, there is also a LOVELY restaurant, bar and the reception (in the bar). We were greeted by a friendly member of staff, she checked us in, showed us to our room, and made a reservation for us at dinner.
The room was so quaint! The walls are very thick stone because of the buildings are old, with lovely windows, and a beautiful view. Everything you need, nice big bathroom, towels, even little mints left for us. There are more expensive rooms that are set right on the river, I probably wouldn't pay the additional for one night, but if staying a little longer this would be considered, they also come with a balcony/terrace.
The restaurant was the best we ate in during our whole 10 day holiday!!! I definitely recommend eating here during your stay, however make sure you BOOK on arrival (or when you book the hotel) as it gets very busy with guests and locals. The choice on the menu is great, all food came quickly and piping hot (well not my boyfriends as he had steak tartar). We both had 3 courses and thoroughly enjoyed each one. The service was also excellent in the restaurant (again dog friendly). We sat outside on the terrace. The food was very reasonably priced as well, which made it all the more enjoyable!
In the morning breakfast is a buffet (extra, was not included in our room rate), this was also fab, lots of choice, take as much as you want etc.. As before great service at breakfast.
This hotel is a MUST for a stop over or a stay. We are now looking to return for more of an activity based holiday in Cahors (great for walking, canoeing, rock climbing etc), and we definitely want to stay in this hotel for at least a week!
