“Will not be returning in a hurry”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2014 via mobile

We visitors the station as we had a groupon voucher for cake coffee and sandwich, on arrival (11am) we were the first there and were told to take a seat by a lady who was busy with wedding enquiries and she shouted for service, no one came to take our order, another couple came in and sat down and after another 5 mins a girl came from the back and served the other couple before us which I wasn't amused with but we had already prepaid for the voucher so it was ok, the girl wrote sandwiches on the blackbird spelt 'sandwitches' not too impressive, our food came and it was all nice, the sandwiches and tea, tasty, however the lady who was taking those wedding enquiries then went over to another couple who came in with a dog and started to pet it and stroke it then went into the kitchen and behind the counter and didn't once wash her hands which was not a nice thought so apart from the food the visit was terrible, also you might need some wellies to walk to it as there's a very muddy track for parking.

“Very disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2014

Arrived to the smell of a transport cafe, steamed up windows and cold room. Service was slow throughout - two young girls and the air is almost 'couldn't care less' although pleasant. The phone kept ringing but was not answered once while we were there. Coffee was so weak it was tasteless. Watched as hot water from boiler was added to large bowl of soup! Brown bread was more like half and half bread. Soup was puréed sandwiches were ok. Home made cake nice but tea arrived with no tea bags in teapot! This could be a lot better than it is - tables are sloppily covered in pretty oilcloth and didn't see one table wiped after people left. The whole place looks as if it's had a quick one day makeover on a very tight budget. Won't be going back!

“Family trip out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2014

Booked an afternoon tea for my family (mam, dad, husband and two daughters + the dog) using a Groupon offer. What excellent value for money. The station is only small but very cosy and the dog was allowed in! We went for a walk along the old track line beforehand, we found some rope swings which were fun. One point to make, the Groupon voucher states the wrong postcode, so do find the correct one before travelling.

“An absolute gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2014 via mobile

Went for lunch with my mum and it was simply fab. The location, the look both inside and outside. It's lovely to see this little part of history has been preserved in such a charming way. Food was super yummy soup, sandwich and cake all of which is homemade. Can't recommend this place enough and looking forward to going back to explore the gardens.

“Quirky cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2014 via mobile

We visited The Garden Station on a Groupon deal. Very good value! The cafe is small with limited seating - it got full very quickly when we where there. Quirky decor - vintage tea cups and plates. Sandwiches were delicious - hand carved ham and creamy egg mayo. I wasn't a big fan of the soup - Armenian. It was really just unpeeled tatties! Cake was delicious. Lovely little walk around the gardens afterwards. We'll definitely cone back in the summer!
