I never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast. It was so peaceful and quiet. Every one there was super nice. This Bed and Breakfast was amazing, the room was so lovely. I would stay here again and again. I do recommend this Guest House to everyone coming out that way. Thank you.

The West Ridge Guest House is just a stone's throw away from Hershey and Harrisburg, but is a restful and peaceful retreat. Innkeeper Jamie is attentive to all your needs and very friendly. The rooms are Clean and the Breakfast is delicious and home-made. Book your stay here with confidence!

Room Tip: All the rooms are well-appointed, I don't believe there are dvd players or Wi-Fi, though I could...

I have stayed here several times over the past 2 years. The establishment is located on a lovely piece of ground with a barn and cows in sight (also in a residential neighborhood, this IS Lancaster County, PA!). The young woman who, with her husband are caretakers, was not present on July 31, when my son & his wife checked in; however, an assistant caretaker came by right before we were leaving to go out to dinner. Our son's room air conditioner did not cool the room down, and we mentioned it to the assistant. She immediately apologized and told us that if they wanted to change to another room, she would allow that, plus give them a 10% discount for the inconvenience. We were very pleased by that, especially since this was their first wedding anniversary gift from my husband & myself to them. The owners do not live in the area, and the place does need some updating, perhaps new carpeting on the stairs. When I last stayed there in June, the pool was being painted, and this time it was lovely and our son & his wife enjoyed their swim. We visit here often because my mother is in the Masonic Village. As she has trouble getting around, there is only one way for her to easily enter the B&B, and that is on the second level where the bedrooms are. If a person in need of handicapped access was visiting, they would have to go outside and return into the front door to get to the dining area for breakfast, which has 2 steps down into the dining/living room. Tables are individual, which I like, and the food is good. No bathroom facilities on the floor where the breakfast is served, so another problem for handicapped people.

My husband and I were in the area last weekend to attend the fall car show/swap meet at Carlisle and were looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of people and traffic. We've stayed at West Ridge before and loved it, so we went back again this year. After traveling for 6 hours in the car and then all the walking at the show, we arrived exhausted after dinner to find our key left in the foyer for us with a phone # if we needed any assitance ( thankful that we didn't have to endure a long conversation with the owners about the history of their B&B, all the local attractions, etc like some other places do..., we just wanted to go up to our room, where there were ample pamphlets and dining menus provided ). We stayed in the "Williamsburg" room, which had a small private deck where we relaxed and watched the sun set over the rolling green hills. The room was gorgeous! Tastefully decorated, roomy, quiet, clean. The mattress a bit firm for my liking, but aside from that it exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and Jamie was friendly and informative as to what the area had to offer. I liked that we could choose what time we wanted to come down for breakfast, and that we could sit at our own table ( some other B&Bs that we have stayed at have all the guests eat together at one certain time, which is nice, but we were celebrating our anniversary and appreciated a table for two ). We highly recommend this place, especially if you want a quiet, non intrusive getaway.

We had a WONDERUL stay. My husband and I stopped through on our way back home to NC from NY. The staff was courteous and warm and went above and beyond in helping us with directions and supplying us with any "extras" that we needed. The breakfast each morning was hearty and freshly prepared and our room and the house itself was extremely clean and well stocked. We enjoyed lounging by the pool and taking in the scenery (there are stables and pastures on the property so it was neat to watch the horses roam around and there was a lot to do in town too so we were never bored. We have told all our friends and family (who also frequently travel the route from NC to NY) about the West Rdige Guest House and plan to return next Summer.

We spent one night here while our daughter visited Elizabethtown College. We were very impressed with everything. The pictures on their web site do not do it justice! We stayed in the Loft rooms.. very airy and open! Very clean. Jeanne, who runs the B&B was very friendly and helpful with local info. It is very close to Hershey (where we went for dinner) and Lancaster(where we went shopping). If our daughter decides to attend E-Town, we will definitely return!

Our 25th anniversary was a special revisit to the Amish area of Lancaster, Pa. In the early 1990's we had camped at the wonderful Country Haven Campground in those early years with our two daughters. This visit without them was a nostalgic gem that was started with 2 fabulous nights at the West Ridge Guest House in Elizabethtown....just a few minutes from fabulous shopping at a mall (highways 83 and 30), New Oxford's and Adamstown antique shopping, great restaurants and inexpensive golf courses. We had a great b and b following our stop here near Blue Bell that was excellent....however our stay at West Ridge was the very best. Our hostess had left the rooms keys ready for us in the guest house next to the main lodge. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the heated swimming pool along with grazing cattle, and was next door to the fitness centre. It allowed us to stay in touch with family back home as it had wireless wifi that never failed. A great breakfast was served downstairs each morning in the guest lounge.....another retreat that was available for relaxing tho' we didn't use it. We were only 20 minutes from the mall, and without taxes on clothing and the stronger Canadian dollar we found great shopping deals. I would stay here again in a heart beat. We were in the wicker room which is the least expensive room. It was all and more that we needed. Right across the hall was a coffee centre along with soft drinks, and snacks that could be purchased at most reasonable prices. The ice was there as well.
