“Great value, pet friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014 via mobile

Enjoyed my overnight, rooms have been redone, very comfortable bed, clean, quiet. Great value for an over night, like the fact it is pet friendly and pets stay free. Staff was very helpful and very courteous. Would stay again, good location right off Interstate 95 - easy on & off.....

Just had to stop for a few hours in Philadelphia, and didn't want to spend $250-300 for the night (paid $80). Was a bit concerned about trying this property, but there was nothing to be concerned about. Neighborhood is fine, if maybe a bit "industrial" just several miles from the airport. There's a decent diner on one side of the hotel and a Denny's on the other side. So coffee or snacks are easy. I didn't want the first room offered because it was on the "highway" (i.e., Interstate) side and the woman at the desk just handed me another key. She was pleasant as was the clerk at the desk on check out. Room was clear and ready. So what if it didn't have a hair dryer, it had a TV. And you can get the amenities for about $10 more. Well worth trying if you think it might meet your needs.

Room Tip: Stay in the building furthest away from the Interstate (Route 95), although the noise level wasn'...

Clean rooms, obviously re-done recently. VERY SMALL. Don't expect to sit on the toilet and be able to shut the bathroom door!. Sink backed up and had not pull to drain it. Outside access to rooms, motel not a hotel, but has room service, a Denny's, and a diner next door. Also allows pets :) As a single girl travelling alone, I felt safe enough during the day. I was trying this one out as I've been staying in the airport area frequently recently; however, there are less expensive hotels in the area that include breakfast that I'll return to instead!

Pro - Beds was comfortable. Sink and counter near sink were beautiful and clearly recently updated. AC unit worked great (although was quite loud). No bedbugs.

Cons - It's a motel. In a really shady area. There were towels hanging in the bathroom from the last person who had the room. Internet hardly worked, and often didn't even show up on our devices. Fixtures in bathroom were not attached to the wall appropriately. Maid service was rude and seen smoking in a non-smoking room. Toilet ran the entire stay. Doors didn't have bar lock on top, only deadbolt that could be opened with key card. Light above sink flickered horribly - couldn't even use it.

In more depth:
I didn't see any statements about this being a hotel or motel, but because I didn't see that I assumed it was a hotel. The professional images don't show that it as a motel until the last three. This of course is my fault for not researching more prior to booking - but it is so irritating when they are not advertised appropriately - by multiple sites no less.

Being from a different area and stuck in a town/area we're not familiar with it's hard to judge a facility by images sometimes as far as how safe one feels. For anyone in the future - my husband slept with a knife beside his bed and we slept with the luggage in front of the door. This was in large part because the door only had one standard lock that could be unlocked by merely a key card. We have a toddler - this is not okay in anyway. A top lock is important to ensure she doesn't leave the room without our knowledge, and for a feeling of safety. We didn't feel safe in this room.

The room appeared clean at first, until I went to get in the shower and found damp towels hanging on the back of the door. This is an oversight by the maid, obviously - but still a needless one that tells me the facility isn't thoroughly cleaning their rooms. Add to this the fact that the toilet ran the entire stay, the shower faucet faceplate wasn't attached and it appeared it hadn't even been attached, ever. Same issue with the towel rack in the bathroom above the toilet. The sink and counter by the sink were beautiful and clearly had recently been updated - however the light above the sink and mirror was a long florescent bulb that flickered anytime it was turned on. Not a big issue - but again, an annoying oversight.

When we first got in the room we couldn't find the internet signal. The entire time we were there we had to fight with it to keep the signal recognized on our devices (IPad Gen 1 & IPad Air). There were no signs in the room or anything given to us to explain how to access it. When we did have a signal, it was weak at best. For a facility that advertises free internet - it is aggravating to hardly have any service. It was one of the reasons we choose this establishment.

To top it off it is advertised with a check out time of noon. Before 9 AM the maid was attempting to enter our room. An hour later when we were taking our things to the car she was seen sitting in the room next door sulking and waiting for us to leave. To top it off, she was smoking. The room is advertised as a non-smoking hotel. But yet, the maid was clearly smoking in the room next door. Inappropriate to say the least.

To finish - the beds were very comfortable and were bed bug free. The air conditioning was fantastic - it was set at 68 when we entered the room and stayed cool and comfortable the entire stay. It would have been a great night's sleep if it weren't for my two year old kicking me all night - but that hardly falls on the fault of this establishment. ;)

We happened to stay here on a recent trip to Independence Hall. A friend recommended the Red Roof. The rooms are very clean and the service was impeccable. The woman working in the lobby was very helpful. We got a discounted rate from a coupon in a magazine we picked up so it was $65.99. This was a great deal for the area. We were close to the airport and out of the city. This was a plus for us. The only negatives I can really say are the following: the lady in the room next to us was smoking in her room and on the balcony and my son and I had to walk through it to get downstairs. The rooms are very small but like I said very clean so it sort of balances out and the WiFi was not very good. I am taking classes online so for me this is important. Unfortunately it was hit or miss with the internet. Other than that our stay was wonderful and we would definitely stay again if we happened to be in the area.

It is a Red Roof Inn-- so I am not sure why people are complaining about breakfasts and microwaves. If that is what you want, then pay twice as much and go to a Residence Inn. This is a basic accommodation that is good for a very short stay. It was obvious that our room was recently renovated. It had updated furnishings, bathroom fixtures and tv. Most important, this room was clean. I have no complaints about our stay and would consider staying again for a quick overnight when traveling.

Room could have been cleaner by having the dustmop ran. The filters in the A/C were filthy. There was no coffee pot, or microwave. In the AM they only had free cup of coffee available in the office. TV channels were very limited. Think the place was over priced for what you get.
