This HI Express is easy to get to, affordable, clean, and with all of the amenities needed for a very pleasant short stay. The staff was nice, and even recommended a great local Italian restaurant for dinner. Highlights of the property include drinking fountains outside the room (no bottled-water charges), free Internet access in the lobby, and quite a decent array of items at the complimentary continental breakfast. If you're traveling on I-81 and need to spend the night somewhere along the way, you could do a lot worse.

My husband & I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Frackville, PA. for 3 nights. I wasn't expecting much, just the normal fairly clean hotel. It was exceptionally clean, the bed linens were so clean and a better quality than is normally used. The quilt for the bed was also white and matched the sheets and they must use a clean quilt for each new guest. Staff was friendly, the stay there was wonderful and comfortable.

I always have a hard time getting a reservation here. The hotel is up near a mall and a Cracker Barrel. They used to be my first choice in the area. They do not care if you have stayed with them before and do not give lower rates because of your business. I will consider another hotel the next time in the area.

Very good hotel for the area. The hotel is inexpensive, comfortable, and very clean. I know it's not from the other reviews, but the place seems almost new. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks to the previous reviewers and Trip Advisor for helping me find a good hotel in the area!

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel every October for the past 4 years. We stay here while the annual Knoebels Funfest is going on. We have never encountered a problem while staying at this hotel.

The rooms are very clean and tidy. They have recently renovated some of the rooms. We find the rooms to be spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is very clean and has plenty of counter space for personal items. There is a small kitchen area which includes a small refrigerator, microwave and some cabinet space for dishes. There is plenty of drawer space for 2 people and the beds are quite comfortable.

Check In and Check out always run smoothly, the breakfast nook is a little small (later in the morning it is hard to find a spot to sit) but the variety of food is great (cereal, bagels, muffins, eggs, fruit, juice coffee etc).

There isn't much to do in this area, like I said earlier we stay here while we go to Knoebels Amusement Park, but there is a Cracker Barrel right in the same parking lot - we love the food there :) There is a small mall down the road but other than that we didn't find much elase.

If you are in the area- give this place a try!

Having stayed here for three nights during March of 2005 and four times over the last two years, I found this property to be clean, maintained and affordable. Although only about 5 years old, thay are currently renovating the rooms. The complimentary breakfast is acceptable. If you do not want to look at the parking lot, ask for a room in back, they face a stone and wooded hillside. It's a break from looking at the interstate. Just steps away, a Cracker Barrel restraunt has served good food for the last few years. A quarter mile away, on the hill above the property, is the Schuykill Mall. In that mall is the Black Diamond Antiques store. It's a fun place to spend an hour or so. Also on the hill, is a Big Lots close out store. It might be the cleanest store of this type for miles, with great selection too. If you want to make use of the microwave/refrigerator rooms and cook in, ask the front desk how to get to Boyer's market on West Oak St. (about 1.2 miles) or Redner's in Shenandoah (about 3.5 miles). Both have great take out food.
