We recently stayed at the Staybridge , Glen Mills and had an amazing overall experience. The staff was courteous, friendly and willing to help at all times. From the complimentary shuttle service to the hot breakfast, Staybridge was a great place to stay. Though we were there for almost four weeks with two very naughty, young kids, everyone was nothing but chirpy and hospitable. Hats off to the Staybridge team for doing an awesome job!

My wife, daughter and I have been staying at the Staybridge Suites this week for a national tennis tournament. During our five days here, GM Steve Natale has been very visible, friendly and demonstrative in his desire to make the property the best it can be.

While chatting with my wife one morning during breakfast, my wife commented how much she appreciated the exercise room; specifically, its size, inclusion of weights and floor mats. Steve, could have smiled and walked away, but instead asked if he could make any improvements. My wife thought for a moment and then mentioned that there was a gap in the lower weights--moving from 5lbs to 10lbs and then 15lbs. "It would be great," she said, "if you had 8 & 12 pounds as well since this is what I need to use." Again, Steve could have smiled and thanked her and that would have been better than most of the managers we encounter. Instead, Steve took the comments to heart.

The next morning, I went into the weight room and what was there on the floor--8lb and 12lb weights. Amazing...

Such a relatively simple request but one that took effort--AND, he took care of it right away.

I saw Steve this morning at 6am while working in the common area and thanked him for the gesture. He was genuinely happy to help and I think it is indicative of how he runs his property. Thank you Steve!

We usually stay at the Best Western, but one of the nights we needed was unavailable so we decided to try the Staybridge. It has the advantage of a larger room (even their smallest) so isn’t as cramped as the BW. A sofa lets you put your feet up on the cocktail table and relax, and an upscale grocery in walking distance lets you take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent, although we would’ve preferred some sort of potatoes to go with the eggs instead of “French toast strips.”

The place caters to business travelers during the week, and the Mon-Thurs social hour is a nice touch, allowing us to relax with a glass of wine as soon as we arrived. Then it’s given over to families for the weekend, and our second night, a Friday, was disturbed by late use of the basketball court. We requested a room change the next day and were promptly accommodated, but if you’re a light sleeper and enjoy an open window at night, ask for a room in the front of the building. You’ll get the morning sun, but the blackout curtains work just fine.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, beds comfy (although my wife told me later she’d gotten a slight backache). We had some voice leakage from neighbors through the door to the adjoining suite (given how clearly conversation came through, I’m glad they didn’t turn their TV on), so don’t say anything you wouldn’t want to have overheard.

Be advised that they don’t offer full housekeeping if you’re staying less than a week, just making the bed and swapping the towels. You have to request the latter over the weekend – and you’ll want to request it, because in neither of our rooms did the exhaust fan in the bathroom work, keeping things moist (and sometimes smelly).

Bottom line: it was a little pricier than the Best Western, even for their smallest suite, but the extra space was worth it for 2 people and a 4-night stay.

Hi azplayer,

Thank you for the great review! I was happy to read that you had an excellent experience at our Staybridge and that you found our team to be very friendly and accommodating, and our rooms to be large and clean. I understand your comments about some noise during our busy summer weekends, and I was thrilled to hear that our team quickly accommodated your request to me moved to more quiet spot in the building! Most of all thank you for your business! I know that there are plenty of options so I appreciate the opportunity and hope that you will consider us again the next time you are in town.

Thank You,
Steve

We stayed for two nights at the Staybridge in early May 2014 and my whole family enjoyed it very much. We stayed in the suite with two queen beds and a pull out sofa bed. Although a tad bit on the small side for four people, the suite itself was very nice and exceptionally clean. The suite has two flat screen TVs, and a kitchenette with a mini stove top, sink, microwave, fridge, and a small dishwasher as well (while we didn't make use of these during our short stay, they would probably come in handy for those staying for a long period of time).

In addition to the suite, the hotel itself was very nice as well! The hotel had free WiFi, and a free breakfast served every morning. In addition, in the late afternoon they have a "happy hour" where they have a free buffet with fresh baked cookies and other snacks. The hotel also has a small shop near the front desk where you can buy snacks, drinks, and some travel size supplies like sunscreen, toothpaste, and other toiletries.

Finally, the hotel is conveniently located to a nice shopping center with a grocery store, a few different restaurants (P.F. Chang's, Ruby's Diner), and some clothing stores where you can do some shopping. When you take into account all the amenities the hotel provides, the niceness of the hotel and rooms, and it's proximity to different stores and restaurants, the Staybridge really is a great value and we would definitely stay here again if we ever found ourselves in Glen Mills.

I have stayed at the Staybridge Suites in Willmington many times now and never had an issue.

The rooms are big and comfortable, as is the bed. I have always had a "kitchen" in the room which has proven useful even during short stays. My son stayed for three weeks and its ideal in the larger ground floor rooms for longer visits.

The breakfast is good as is the "happy hour" service on various evenings with free food and drink!

The gym and washing facilities are good, never had chance to take a dip in the pool.

Staff are great - no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: Ground floor...

Stayed here for a memorial day soccer tournament. This hotel was "chosen" for us by the tournament housing service, so we had no say in the decision to stay here. The hotel was fine and they allow dogs, which was a plus for us. Check in was smooth. We didn't get the bigger rooms like the rest of our team - I'm assuming because we brought our dog. Prior to our stay, I had contacted the hotel 3 separate times to ensure we could have a later checkout time on Sunday - due to the tournament schedule and us having the dog with us. Each time I called, I was assured they could accomodate the request for a 2:00 pm checkout, although each time they said my previous requests hadn't been noted on in our reservation. When Sunday morning came around, we decided to check once again with the front desk to make sure they knew we wouldn't be checking out until 2:00. They said they don't do late checkouts and we had to be out by noon. We explained our previous calls to the hotel and how we were assured that our request would be honored. They basically told us we were out of luck. It took 3 calls to the front desk and us threatening to call elsewhere within the company before we were finally allowed to check out at 2:00. Not the best customer service. Another weird thing was they don't do housekeeping service on the weekends. We checked in on a Friday and we had no housekeeping for our entire stay. No cleaning, no clean sheets, no clean towels. Weird. It was also really expensive - $180/night. Not sure if it was because of Memorial Day or because our reservations were made through a tournament housing service, but it was way overpriced.

Hi anoynous,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay at our Staybridge. I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you were able to bring your dog along with your family during your tournament. Please accept my apologies for the confusion regarding your request for a late checkout, we always do our best to accommodate travel needs of our guests, so this was disappointing to hear. I know that it can be frustrating when your hotel is chosen for you, but there is no room size distinction made for travelers with pets, you had a choice to pay for two separate room types through your housing service which is why you had a different room type than some of our other tournament guests. Also please accept our apologies for not receiving information upon arrival regarding our housekeeping service. As an extended stay hotel we provide a daily light touch service which includes making the beds, taking out the trash and replenishing towels if they are left on the floor. Every seven nights we perform a full clean service for those staying for a week or more. We really appreciate your business and we hope that we see you again the next time you are in the area!

Thank You,
Steve

I can say the folks are nice, the rooms are comfy, breakfast better than other staybridge locations and the socials are nice.
The hotel location made it easy to do day trips all the way to Gettysburg and other locations closer. We stayed 7 nights and really did find it a good home away from home. There are a good number of restaurants close and the location is very quiet.
This location is a bit older than the other staybridge locations I have a stayed at and that means a bit of updating is in order such as bathroom cabinets ( need refinishing).
These are items you notice after being in a room for 7 nights. Our only bad experience was the soccer mom, dads and bad mannered kids that were in the hotel for the weekend. No one controlled them, not the hotel and surely not the parents. No mention of upgrade at check in or level of membership, but that is the case with most IHG properties. Frequent stayers are no longer a priority, just as long a the properties are making money. Overall, a nice hotel.

Room Tip: The higher the better, less noise.

Hi RobertSummers,

Thank you for choosing to stay at our Staybridge for your extended stay! Our team is thrilled to hear that you found our hotel to be a great “home away from home”! Our food and beverage team was also thrilled to hear that you found our food service experience to be excellent as well. Please accept my apologies for not being recognized as an IHG Rewards member, we hold the loyalty of our members in very high regard, so this was certainly disappointing to hear. I will make sure that we make this up to you. I also understand that in a hotel as busy as our Staybridge, that some of the holiday weekend teams can be a bit overwhelming which is why to try to only take a single team during these huge tournaments. Thank you for taking the time to write a great review of our hotel, it means a lot to our team especially coming from a Top Contributor such as yourself. We hope to see you again the next time you are in the area!

Thank You,
Steve
