Robert is a wonderful innkeeper- this was our third visit to After Eight and we enjoyed every minute of it. We had room 2- on the bottom floor - bed was extremely comfortable and the Bathroom was very large- nice little closet for hanging coats, clothes etc.
This room was a little noisier than the room we had before since it was toward the front of the house and on the bottom floor- but we slept great- he even had a noise machine that played ocean sounds which we used.
All of the bathrooms & the main rooms were recently painted very nicely.
Breakfast was plentiful - Apple turnover cheese strata, sausage, fresh pineapple & strawberries & really good coffee and of course juice & water. Robert usually has home-made cookies out as well and there is always water bottles and soda and sometimes juice- also snacks like crackers, peanuts, granola bars & even microwave popcorn.
You must check out the puzzle table- love it- and his year round tree- which was decorated with easter decorations this time around.
Robert really knows the area and always has suggestions of places to go/things to see- & we LOVE his Breakfast Humor! If you can't take a joke... don't stay here:-)
Can't wait to visit again! Hopefully sooner rather than later!

Room Tip: top floor - rear of house is less noisy

My husband and I started our B and B excursions at After 8 and I have to say, the experience is unparalleled! Robert, the proprietor is warm, funny and truly cares about his guests' comfort. He has a quick smile and is always ready with suggestions on interesting things to do while out in Lancaster. The rooms and grounds are impeccable and the convenience of the location is second to none. We love going to After 8 and try to make a pilgrimage out there at least once a year. As long as After 8 is in the heart of Amish Country, we'll keep coming back because it truly is a home away from home! Kami and Tommy

Room Tip: Book as far out in advance as you can- especially if you want a room with a jacuzzi!!!

Our host, Robert, gets an A++++++++++++++ in hospitality! This BnB makes you feel right at home from the moment the front door is open. The house is beautifully decorated in an antique style with all the modern ammenities! The rooms are cozy and cheerful, the individual rooms are bright and comfortable and impeccably CLEAN! The breakfast food is beyond scrumptious! Location couldn't be better...close to shopping but away from the hustle and bustle. I would highly recommend this BnB to everyone I know. We are looking forward to staying there again!

Room Tip: If you are a smoker I would recommend the Porch room, as you have access right from your room to the porch!

My wife and I have stayed at many B and B's over the past few years. After Eight is one of the very few that raises the bar for what we would expect from a quality establishment. Robert, the owner, has thought of every last detail to make his guests feel at home. What stood out was the warm greeting we received on arrival and the quick tour of the inn and our room. Robert is very personable and likeable. He has thought about every detail to make your stay more enjoyable, from the snacks and beverages out in the dining area, to the fine array of toiletries in the private baths. Both the rooms and the common areas are exceptionally clean and nicely decorated. Robert's breakfast was divinely delicious and nicely presented. Also, this B and B is very spacious so as a guest I felt like I was not on top of other guests nor did I have the feeling that the whole house could hear everything I said. For those that are looking for the very best in a bed and breakfast experience, this is the one in the Lancaster area!

This was our first visit to a Bed and Breakfast. We loved it. It was very relaxing and could come and go as we want. Robert was very nice and entertaining. It was close to all the places we like to visit in Lancaster. The place was exceptionally clean. We will definitely be back when we can get away again.

Room Tip: We had the candle room which was one of the rooms allowed to light candles. If looking for a romantic evening this is the room to pick.
