“Great for Special Occasions and Pre-Theater Dining”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

I had the pleasure of dining at J Corks prior to a Saturday night showing of Stomp valentine's day weekend. We were greeted upon entry and had the door opened for us which was a nice starting point. Our reservation was confirmed and we were seated promptly in the main dining area with a nice view of a cozy fireplace. We were provided with both a special valentine's day menu as well as the standard menu. We started with a course of appetizers which were both tasty. For our main course we both selected a pan seared chicken breast with strawberry chocolate bbq sauce which was accompanied by some cheesy mashed potatoes and green beans. We opted for something different from the valentine's menu that we may not likely have available elsewhere and it was a pleasant experience. We finished off with chocolate covered strawberry cheesecake upon recommendation and one of the specialty creme brulee's. From start to finish, the servants were very attentive and helpful and all of our food samplings were proportioned well and had great flavor and taste. The ambiance was very romantic and relaxing and a nice warm escape from the cold, ice, and snow on the outside. It was conveniently located within 5 minutes from the Palace Theatre and comes with a high recommendation based on our experience.

“Excellent food; uneven service”
Reviewed 22 December 2013

I was on business from out of town, J. Corks was highly recommended by a local and it did not disappoint. excellent appetizer and the pork chop was terrific. Only negative seemed to be the service. Took an exceptionally long time to get a drink, and follow up. Other table's waiter missed an appetizer. Was not very busy, so it seemed like everyone, while pleasant and smiling as they passed, had another agenda. Not sure what it was. recommend as a good place to go, but not sure how it is when there is a full house!

“Great place for a large group”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

Our family of 10 dined at J Corks over Thanksgiving weekend and experienced a pleasant meal. The table began the meal with sided salads, a huge serving of Pepper-Jack Spinach dip, sweet and spicy calamari, the shrimp cocktail and perfectly cooked bacon wrapped scallops. The scallops and the dip were the favorites. Our main courses included the Filet tips and tortellini, Stuffed Chicken, Pork Chops, Crab Cakes, Veal, Salmon and Strip Steak. Everyone was very happy with their dishes. I tasted the crab cakes and Strip Steak and both were good. The server and restaurant were very good about allowing people to switch out side dishes. The server seemed to be new and wasn't the best but she was adequate. Four members of our family dined at One Eleven a few weeks prior and we found the value and food to be better at J Corks on this particular visit. When we return to GBG we will be back.

The steaks are so full of flavor, and they actually melt in your mouth, definitely the best steaks in Westmoreland County.

“Great food, atmosphere and service.”

Food is always superb. They always have a specialty cocktail of the day, I've never been disappointed! Great place to go with a group of people after work, or to celebrate a birthday or something with dinner.
