Cafe Fresco was recommended by the local Visitors' Bureau as a restaurant that changes character (in a good way) depending on whether it's time for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Guess what? They were right!
Likes: Great place for a morning coffee and croissant, sitting either inside or out. Same thing for dinner. In the morning, there's a friendly coffee-house atmosphere. During dinner, the inside takes on an edgier, more exciting ambience...somewhere to see and be seen.
We opted for dinner outside (we like sitting outside, weather permitting). Drinks: Cucumber Mint Gimlet (refreshing!) and an IPA. Food: Basil Pizza and the Grilled Ribeye. The pizza was chosen because of the six-mile walk taken earlier in the day, but - based on the yummy entrees other diners were enjoying - the Asian-fusion fare is probably the main reason to dine at Cafe Fresco. Both of our entrees were good: we were just envious of the gorgeous meals and happy faces of our fellow diners.
The breakfast croissant and coffee were also tasty and inexpensive. Again, sat outside and had a pleasant time watching Harrisburg go by.
