Stayed 2 nights in this hotel and had a good nights sleep. It's located in the heart of downtown Harrisburg. On the plus side, staff was very friendly. They have room service ,a bar, and restuarant downstairs. Room was overall clean and heating /ac worked well. The price of the room was on line with everything else in the area. On the negative side the bathrooms are really small (think airplane size) Shower didn't give a lot of water. Towels were soft, soaps were good quality. The bed was comfy but the sheets were worn and pilling. Housekeeping showed up around 3pm to clean. Underground parking was cramped and probably an after thought, if you must park, bring a mini cooper. The downtown area is very historic but kind of sketchy. If you have buissness downtown it is probably very convient. If your travelling with your family Hershey seems like a much cleaner area.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel during our visit to Hershey Park. After doing our research we decided that the Crowne Plaza was the best value. However, when we got there we were very disappointed! As soon as we got to the room, I noticed that one of the beds' comforter was dirty. I couldn't believe that this hotel's selling points are the beds and then the comforter is dirty. The next morning I noticed that the blanket on the other bed was stained with a purplish/reddish stain. The doors were dirty, the bathroom was small and the shower was dingy. The shower curtain was even missing about three hooks and was just left to fall on one end. The carpet outside the elevator looked like it was never vacuumed and the door handles in the pool area were rusted. On our last night there was a 'false alarm' at 1:30 in the morning as well -- again, so much for the sleep conditions.
We encountered a couple of staff members in the elevator who were very friendly and the front desk people were friendly as well, however, it was overshadowed by the shoddy conditions of this hotel.
We stayed there for three nights and I'm embarrassed to say we paid $169.00 per night. When we booked it we thought we got a deal. It was way overpriced for what we got.
I do not Recommend this hotel to anyone. In fact, we will probably never stay at another Crowne Plaza anywhere.

Made reservations via Hotwire for Aug 21 thru 25 for 2 people and were very excited about the $70 per night rate. However when we checked in we were assigned a room with a murphy bed. That is one that folds down out of the wall. We were assured it was queen size. It was not. It was a full sized bed that sat about a foot off the floor. The mattress was terrible and sagged towards the middle. We called to ask to be moved and were told nothing else was available, and since the sofa folded out into a bed it confirmed to the Hotwire definition of a room that sleeps 2. Though we asked every day if anything else was available, and the hotel was clearly not full, we were never allowed to move to a conventional room.

We chalked the bed situation up to getting what you pay for, but there were some things that were unacceptable in what is supposed to be a 3 to 3.5 star hotel, the shower curtain was moldy, the shower itself would not stay at a constant temperature, the carpet was stained, furniture in the room was chipped and broken, maid service was careless, and the parking garage was small, cluttered, and difficult to negotiate. Most annoying of all was the construction on adjoining rooms that started as early as 7:30am.

Staff was rude and not helpful, location was next to bus depot homeless people sleeping all over the place. Not kid freindly at all, no game room, food menu etc. After 11.00 PM when pool closes advised by staff to go back to our rooms no where less to sit. Rooms not cleaned and no fresh towels. We had 5 rooms total so front desks excuse of do not disturb sign did not go over well with everybody.

My husband and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for two nights during the first week of August and they were two of the best nights' sleep we've had! First off, the bedding is soft and clean and extremely comfortable. They don't have those big icky bedspreads that never get washed like so many hotels have. The Crowne's bedspread is a duvet with a cover made of the softest, cleanest cotton imaginable in a hotel. The sheets and pillow cases were the same, making it really hard to get out of bed in the morning. The room was quite large and we had a great view of the church across the street. This was our second time in Harrisburg and our second time at the Crowne Plaza--we will certainly always make this our first choice of hotel. The location of the Crowne is excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that a housekeeper knocked on our door at 9:45am, even though the "Do Not Disturb" sign was out,
and asked when we would be checking out. Even though check-out was not until noon, I felt pressured to leave--not a great feeling. If they need to know when we're checking out, I think a phonecall from the housekeeping office would be fine--I would certainly prefer that to a knock on my door when I'm not dressed. Otherwise, it was an excellent visit and we will certainly stay there again!

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Harrisburg. We paid $115 per night. It was convenient to get to Hershey Park.

Some things to note...There were some stains on the carpet. In the bathroom there were strands of hair. We did ask for clean towels and were given them immediately. There was no light by the closet, making it hard to see. We made sure to draw the curtains back for light.

It is best to eat outside of this hotel as there are a number of restaurants nearby. The hotel charges too much.

Overall, this hotel was average. We certainly don't think that it is worth $115 a night. It served its purpose but we will most likely look for another place to stay next time.

I stayed here with my two daughters on July 23 and 24. Our main goal was to see Hershey park but with all of the expensive hotels surrounding Hershey I did some research and got the Crowne Plaza via priceline at $65/night, while it went normally for approx. $180/night. Not a bad deal!!!

It was about a ten minute ride to Hershey park from the hotel. At first when we arrived I was a little bummed that it wasn't closer but let me tell you that after full days in the park I was soooo grateful to get away from all of the crowds of people and come to this solice of a hotel!

The pool was empty each time we went in it at night and the staff was more than helpful with whatever we needed. The beds were the main perk in this hotel....felt like I was sleeping on a cloud!!!!

I would definitely recommend bidding via priceline for this hotel and while I would never pay full price for it I would absolutely pay what I paid and stay here again if we were to re-visit the area.
