Just returned from our 3 night stay and I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. First thing we were so happy they accepted pets at a decent price.Check in took about 5 minutes and we checked in early even. There were 4 of us so we got the suite with 2 double beds and mini kitchen, room was spotless and clean, bathroom was fine no problems. The breakfast was good but get there early you will be fighting a crowd. We utilized the outdoor patio at night for drinks and cards. It was an excellent hotel.

I have never stayed at this line of hotel and was pleasantly surprised! All the staff were courteous and helpful, and check in took about 3 minutes.
The lobby is warm and relaxing, and is clean. All the rooms have suites with a full kitchen (full fridge with freezer, stovetop, dishwasher, dishes, full sink, etc.). This is great for a traveling family! In addition, there is a place in the lobby that sells a few microwave meals and snacks so a run to the convenience store can be avoided.
The complimentary breakfast in the off-lobby area is among the best we have seen at any of these type of "breakfast included" hotels.
It is about 20 minutes from Hershey park and less than 10 minutes from downtown Harrisburg.

Our family stayed here on our visit to Herhsey. We booked the 2 bedroom suite and it was spacious and clean. The full kitchenand two full bathrooms was a great bonus. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which had the standard waffles, eggs and sausage along with cereals, fruit, yogurt and breads. The manager's reception was also a nice welcome. They had Taco night when we were there, along with complimentary wine and beer. When we checked in, we received a small bag that contained water, a drink mix and a cookie which was a nice surprise. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool. The chlorine smell was very intense for me and I had to leave the kids with my husband for a bit to get fresh air. The laundry facitlity and gym was located next to the pool. Overall, it was a great hotel and I would recommend it to friends visiting the area who wouldn't mind the drive to Hershey. I only gave the one star rating for the restaurant only because there were no restaurants in the hotel.

We went to Penn. for a get away for our "37th Anniversary". Great room, very friendly staff, wonderful breakfast. We felt very safe and secure while staying there. Great place to stay! The hotel was easy to get too and easy to move from place to place. Families with children would enjoy how easy it would be to get to places of interest. I enjoyed all the near shopping malls and hubby enjoyed getting to farming places to look for machines. Many places around to grab a quick bite or for a dinner. The breakfast was very good. Staff had it filled and refilled when it became low . Coffee and cream was real and very good. If the staff saw you looking for something, they would quickly ask if they could help. Great idea for social gatherings provided if you would like.

Room Tip: Any room would be good

We booked a king room with roll-in shower, on staybridge's website 2 weeks in advance. When we checked in, we were given a queen room with accessible tub instead. I have trouble getting in and out of a tub, but am not in a wheelchair, so we opted to stay in the room, since we were tired from traveling. I called the front desk to let them know it wasn't the type of room I booked, and they adjusted our price immediately. If you need specific accessibilty features in your room, be sure to call and double or triple check, so they can meet your needs. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was pretty good, except for the scrambled eggs which were horrible (powdered maybe?). We were there on a Friday night in August, so there were tons of families with kids there, since it's so close to Hershey. Great family hotel.

Our prior experiences with Staybridge Suites elsewhere were very favorable, and led us to choose the Staybridge Suites- Harrisburg when celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary.

We really wanted to like Staybridge Suites- Harrisburg, but found we couldn’t.

Our two bedroom suite was spacious, clean, and had two full bathrooms. Members of the staff we dealt with were pleasant and courteous.

However, the areas where the included Breakfast and Sundowner Reception meals are served, as well as the kitchen, were constructed to accommodate perhaps half of a full load of guests. The variety of Breakfast food was limited, either by choice or necessity; there wasn’t room to put out a good selection. The kitchen staff worked diligently, but was unable to keep the buffet table stocked, so by the time we got though the long lines, selections were frequently exhausted. Given the limited space, the dining tables had to be placed so close together that, when we did manage to get one, we came to regret it because guests balancing hot coffee had to climb over us to make their way to their own tables. Occupancy was high during our stay, but unless Management deliberately planned only to have a half-full hotel, they should have built to accommodate the load.

There is only a single curved two- lane driveway for ingress and egress to the property, and no roadside parking. When an eighteen wheeler delivers supplies, the truck has to park blocking one of the lanes, exacerbating an already tight driving situation.

Many corners seem to have been cut in the construction and furnishing of the building.

Soundproofing for the walls is adequate, but judging from the cacophony of crashes and thuds penetrating the ceiling of our suite, the ceilings have little or no soundproofing.

Both toilets are improperly vented, emitting prolonged ghostly moans when flushed. This is disconcerting, especially if you have to get up to use one of them during the night.

The refrigerator door creaks like something in an old horror movie. There are no ice machines, and when we complained about the fridge ice maker, we were told it takes a day or so to function properly. Even by the end of our several day stay, it had never produced more than a handful of ice cubes each day.

Both kitchen and bathroom drawers have no pulls on them, and can only be opened by grasping both sides of the front edges of the drawers with your fingertips.

Furnishing DVD players for each of the TVs is a nice idea, but the ones provided retail for approximately $19.95; one played only in Black and White and none of the remotes functioned. We gave up and used our laptop with an HDMI connection to the TV instead.

For a two bedroom suite, a single frying pan for stove top cooking was inadequate. A request for a second utensil, a cooking pot, was never met.

Small touches like a packet of complementary popcorn for the microwave would have been appreciated, but were lacking.

Overall, we are really disappointed that we can’t give this hotel more than a two star rating.

Room Tip: Try the top floor; it may be quieter.
