This is a great location for both the wine and music festival and a visit to see historical buildings with the family. They have various events going on throughout the year but the one we like is the wine and music fest. They have many local wineries for tasting, food and craft vendors, and great music. You can take your own picnic basket too if you want to save money.

I love this park, the view of the river, family activities, craft shows and special events. But mostly I love a cup of coffee or a cool drink and an afternoon stop in the park just to sit.

Great place to walk around to see many different things. The mansion and the gardens are gorgeous, as well as the view of the Susquehanna river! If you walk across the street you will see the Centennial Barn and some older houses as well as a remake of a covered bridge that is nearby I believe.

Two women and a teen girl visited on a sunny/cloudy afternoon on a day when the Pennsylvania state museum was closed. It was a great outing for us. We were given a tour by a friendly, knowledgable guide, we learned a lot about the history of the house and felt warmly received as well. The grounds across the street looked interesting but as we started our stroll over there, the rains came and we chose to head home. Would recommend the house tour for adults and interested young ones and the grounds as a lovely park setting for strolling and learning a little about the 19th century.
