What's not to like? Relaxing by the river, bands, ice-cream, fireworks, nice people..all free!! Did I mention there was free ice cream by Turkey Hill last night? You'll like the peace and quiet plus learn about 1800's life.

Our mansion tour guide spent a lot of time explaining anything we were interested in. I was with two teenage girls, and he was very good at not over-explaining things that might bore them. He did a terrific job! All of us enjoyed the tour!

We did not get to do any of the self-guided outdoor tours because a thunderstorm was approaching when we finished our mansion tour. We would have liked to; I bet we could have spent all day there.

We found this park quite by accident when we decided to drive down Front Street to get better photos of the lovely arched train bridge. This was a jewel of a find. Beautifully kept park.

We were too late for a tour of the mansion but we enjoyed looking at the grounds and taking photos of the well kept mansion.

Half of the park is right on the river while the other half is across the road and has a Cenntienal barn, stable, covered bridge and volleyball court and fields.

Fort hunter mansion I actually found using trip advisor mobile, trying to find something to do early on a Saturday. The mansion was beautiful, and contained lots of actual pieces from the home not just period furniture. The mansion and grounds are stately, and right on the shore of the beautiful Susquehanna. The admission is $5, and the in depth tour lasts probably about an hour and fifteen minutes. The staff is very knowledgeable, and have many interesting stories about the history of this once prominent Harrisburg family.

We stopped to view this home as part of a one day tour of Harrisburg. While the home was not open, we toured the grounds, peeked in the windows and enjoyed the beautiful view of the Susquehanna River. It was a very nice stop.
