“Eclectic, neighborhood, homemade pasta --”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014

Small, reservation strongly advised, homemade pasta served up in a small, noisy, sort of sterile, but homey atmosphere. Nothing special about the interior, not a place to hang out over coffee, but the food is very good and price is very good. It's BYOB. Staff (one server) is friendly and attentive. Menu is .. different. You won't see a wide selection of veal, steak, or chicken. There are a few shrimp and chicken dishes, but menu is small which I'm sure ensures freshness. All cooked to order. Give it a try, I think we will go again, but it's (I feel) pretty much a neighborhoood yuppie atmosphere - which is fine, not being disparaging. We usually favor a more quiet place with more selection. BYOB is fine. Desserts look very good.

“Something Special Here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

On your way out of the city of Harrisburg, past all the Second Street Restaurant Row options, is a small but worthwhile restaurant called Pastorante. Actually on 3rd street past Forster, you will find a small, but accommodating location. You find several low top and high top table options and a limited menu, but choices are worth a try. The service here, due to its cozy setting allows for for very personal and friendly service. All pasta, as their specialty, guess you knew that, is hand made and the sauces they pair with them is very good. They definitely know how to make simple food taste wonderful. For those who need to know, it is a BYOB, so grab a friend, partner or newly made acquaintance and a bottle of your best vino and stop in. Reservations are definitely a must on the weekends, do to limited seating if you want to eat in. Get to know the staff and spend a great night with good food and a friendly atmosphere.

“Great Find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

Excellent Authentic Italian food. Their pasta is made fresh daily and each dish is prepared to
order. We each tried different entrees and we all were delighted. I ordered eggplant with
marinara sauce over flat noodles. Portions are large but not heavy and very filling without
feeling heavy. If you love Real Italian food this place is for you Eddie was the only server and
handled our group of 10 women along with all the other patrons without missing a beat!! He made our whole experience enjoyable unfortunately we are all from out of town or we would definitely come back again.
Thank you Eddie, and the chef, I didn't get your name, for an outstanding experience !!!

“eccellentissimo!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

What a find. Visiting from out of town and in the mood for Italian we chose Pastorante based on good Trip Advisor reviews We were not disappointed. We have a favorite Italian restaurant at home, but Pastorante has taken over the #1 spot. The made fresh daily pasta is the foundation for the wonderful entrees. My wife had a dish with rigatoni, kale, sun dried tomatoes, lima beans, and sausage, in a light chicken broth sauce. I had the special, which this night was a casserole of pasta, shrimp, lobster, and crab in vodka sauce, topped with cheese and baked to perfection so the cheese on top was melted, a bit crunchy, but not close to overcooked. Both were to die for. It's a BYOB place. We like that - makes having a couple glasses of wine with your meal more affordable. We left with a bill of around $57 after a 25% tip. You could eat their much more cheaply. Spaghetti is $8. If you like authentic Italian, you will love Pastorante.
