Not in the city; out in the boonies. Good place to stay on the way out of town north/east. Vanilla. Nice and clean. Basic accommodations. Sounds carry through walls some. No coffee pot, fridge, microwave, shampoo. Only one vending machine: Pepsi. Closest restaurant is a Perkins at the neighboring truck stop - pleasant: regulation Perkins fare.

i recently stayed at the scottish inn. i stopped because i needed a rest after driving all day and found the staff to be friendly (answered the billion questions i had about food, weather, things to do, etc) and the rooms to be clean. it was exactly what i needed after a day of driving.

We travel a lot and we stay @ different hotels. We like to try new hotels and that is the reason that we stayed at Scottishinn. I have to tell you that i am coming back here again next time. My wife & i enjoyed our stay. The room was vary clean , continental breakfast was excellent. The girl at front desk was vary helpful. We found this place by our good friend & we will recommend this place to everyone. The only thing i don't like is we did not have fridge in our room but they told us that we can use their lobby fridge 24/7. I have nothing to complain about this place. I had an excellent stay.

It is not hard to find hotel this days,so many websites,so many incentives, but hard to find nice, clean, friendly & within your budget. I came in hershey for my anniversery. We wanted to go to chocolate world. The lady @ the desk gave us all the necessary information for not only chocolate factory but she gave information about so many other places to go nere hershey. We enjoyed a lot. I have to say i am coming here again with lots of my friends.breakfast was vary good.
ALL I CAN SAY IS NICE ,VARY NICE.

We stayed here just 1 night before returning home from a 2 week trip. We had been spending 120- 140 a night on accomidations but this got good reviews so we figured we would try it. 70 a night with tax. Overall it met my expectations of cheap and clean. It may meet yours too if that's your main focus. However it was really cheap quality. This is a new hotel so things look okay right now but not sure how it will look after a year. Our room was 107. Again room was clean. ac/heat worked fine and it had a large tv . Continetal breakfast was enough to keep you from starving , they had donut holes, waffles, english muffins, bagels, milk, coffee and something that tasted like sunny -d. they had a few cut up orange wedges. Lobby was big and bright. On the negative side staff wasn't overly friendly. It seems like a family run buissness so what's the point complaining. Girl in the morning for check out was nice. On the negative. Parking is in the rear of the building ,no back access to hotel (seems like a car thiefs paradise with easy freeway access )2 of the 5 lights in our room didn't work. Cheapest toilet paper I've ever seen. Towels while new were rough and so thin that when folded were thinner than a quarter, shower curtian did little to keep the water of the floor. On both our beds a single blanket was used instead of a double and placed horizontally.(not tucked in on the bottom. No liners in the trash cans. Beds were really hard and the pillows were the disposable kind the fire dept. uses(although I am pretty sure they reuse them at this place) Over all the area is more of a truck stop. Not much of interest within walking distance. Spend the extra 20 dollars and stay in Hershey. It is a beautiful, clean and safe town. It has lots of restuarants and attractions all within walking distance.

After seeing 2 positive reviews on here about this hotel we booked it for 4 nights for a trip to Hershey Park, excited to be staying in a brand new hotel. The rooms were medium sized, which was fine, but after checking in we proceeded to our room, walked into the bathroom, turned on the light switch, and had ants come running out of the switch! We called the desk to request another room, and were told someone would come and spay "again" for the ants. This wasn't acceptable to us, so we insisted on another room.

We moved to the second room, and things seemed fine until we got into bed and found one of the the beds to be rock hard. We like hard beds, and have never had a complaint about a hotel mattress before, but we found this one to be too hard for either of us to be able to get comfortable in.

When we DID finally manage to sleep, we were awakened every time the air conditioning unit cycled off. There is no continuous fan setting, just on or off......very loud, very annoying!

Next day we asked if something could be done about the mattress, however we were told every room was the same. Frustrated, we left the hotel to spend the day at the park. The park was great, and we stayed until closing, returning exhausted to our hotel, only to find when we got to our room that our key card lock had been changed and we were locked out!

Went to the desk and they told us, "Oh, that happens sometimes, maybe someone tried to get into your room" and were given new keys. OK, maybe that does happen OCCASIONALLY.....but it wound up happening EVERY night of our 4 night stay!

We found ants around the coffee machine when we went to the lobby for the complimentary breakfast...yuck.

On our last day we turned on the air conditioner and out marched MORE ants! We called the desk and were told "all the hotels at this exit have ant problems" We demanded to speak to the manager (who we had been asking for and leaving messages for since our second day) and finally got hold of him. He had very little to say regarding our complaints, and claimed to have been there all day the day before (we had left numerous messages for him to call us, he said he didn't get them) He wasn't apoligetic, however he did issue us a $50 refund, (less than half of one nights stay) which we were not happy with, but too aggravated to pursue further.

Don't stay here, at least not during the warm months, when the a/c is needed, and bugs are in season! Pool at neighboring hotel was fine.

Traveling as a family with our 20 month old son, we stay in suites as often as possible for the extra amenties (mini-fridge, microwave, etc.) and the extra room to put him to sleep in.

Arriving at the apparently new Scottish Inn near Hershey Park, we were dismayed to find that our 'suite' was not a suite at all, merely a slightly larger room with a larger bathroom, for people with disabilities; an important, necessary facility to have, but not really what we were hoping for. There was, of course, no fridge or microwave, and none available.

Of the two air-conditioning units in our room, one was unplugged (not working we were told) and the other turned itself off and on all night--completely off, not just the cooling, but the fan as well, meaning we pretty much woke up everytime it kicked back on during the night (we purchased a table fan from Target the next day to distract us from the AC).

Getting ready next morning, or son quickly discovered that the door to our room didn't stay locked from the inside--if you pulled down on it's handle, it unlocked, and since there was no latch or chain on the door, it quickly became a game of "can I get the door open and run out into the hallway before Mom and Dad get dressed?"--he loved it!
Arriving at the complimentary breakfast, we asked the front desk for a high chair, to which we were told "that's the one thing we don't have". We could only laugh. Breakfast again, became a great ' run around the lobby, head for the automatic front doors' game.

Finally, as an apparent amenity, they leave coffee on the burner in the lobby all day and into the evening. If they had an air pot, complimentary coffee would be a great idea, but the smell of very old and very burnt coffee that inundated the lobby I found fairly revolting.

On the plus side, the rooms are new and clean, you are allowed to use the swimming pool in the motel next-door, and the staff attempted to be helpful, but I cannot recommend the Scottish Inn if you are travelling with young children, which, being just a few miles from Hershey Park, seems incredibly short-sighted of them.
