I spent the weekend at Woodloch Resort with my family (boys are 5 and 7) for a wedding. We did the non-traditional plan (no meals) and stayed at the Springs. We LOVED all the activities they offered and took advantage of most of them. We left our condo in the Springs at 7:30am on Saturday to head over to Pines and didn’t return until we had to get back to prep for the wedding at 3pm. We participated in Cake Wars, boat ride on the lake, paddle boats, go-carts, bumper cars and bumper boats, family bowling, basketball and baseball competitions, rock wall climbing, batting cages, bocce ball, mini golf, petting zoo/pony rides, and batting cages. We also used the indoor pool and kids loved the splash zone. They also loved the indoor playground. My 7 year old’s favorite activity (and probably mine as well) was the horse races Friday night at the night club. Lots of activity for one weekend! We really didn’t spend much time at all in the condo, but it was roomy and clean and sufficient for our stay.
I realize that most people do the all-inclusive plan and have scheduled meal times in the main dining room, but more food options for purchase for those that don’t want to be on that schedule would be nice. They had food at North Lodge but it was a very limited menu and besides that, just a deli that was not that convenient to anything. We did eat at the Clubhouse Grille in the Springs Friday night and they had a good menu, good food and service, and reasonable prices.
Woodoch did a great job on the wedding – well-run and good food- also a beautiful setting outside overlooking the lake. The reception was at the Inn at Woodloch.
Also note that entrance for the Springs guest houses is about 3-4 miles from the Pines where all the activities take place. Then, you need to drive through to your place so it takes about 15 minutes to drive back to your house and there are no buses between the properties. We didn’t realize this before we went and I don’t think it’s clear on any of their sites but maybe I missed it.
Lastly, the staff at the resort were great – very friendly and knowledgeable!
