“Good Little Not-a-Chain Restaurant / Bar”
Reviewed 13 October 2012

Blue Dust is a very nice local eatery with a very friendly staff. It has an extensive selection of beers. The menu is somewhat limited, but the food is very good. I like to support non-chain restaurants if they are worth it -- this one is well worth my support.

Yes, not truly in the waterfront but right before. Great beer selection. Food is different and very good. Love the surf & turf sandwich

“Based solely on beer!!”
Reviewed 24 August 2012

I preface this review by letting you know I have not eaten here. However, I've been here a couple times for the beer. Sat at the bar and enjoyed some of Pittsburgh's finest brews from the tap. Amazing beer selection. I'm pretty sure they have Chimay too but don't quote me (if you know beer, you know what I'm talkin about here). Come here if you like beer that blows your mouth up with taste. Not the bar to have a water lite.

“Best for craft beer and sandwich”
Reviewed 31 October 2011

The Blue Dust is great if you would like to go out for a sandwich and a great beer. I have eaten the pulled pork and the beef brisket sandwiches and loved both. Both are smoked on premise by the owner.

My first visit here was on a night bicycle ride during BikeFest. The ride started and ended at the Blue Dust. What a fun night! The selection of micro-brews is fantastic and they will give you samples if you aren't sure what you want. Since my first visit here, I have introduced Blue Dust to my daughter and son-in-law and both loved it. We have been back several times.

This is a great place for a moderately priced night out. It is not fancy but it sure is a fun place to go with friends or even alone. Very casual, unhurried atmosphere.

They are located in Homestead just to the south of the Waterfront. So, if your are going to the Waterfront, skip the chain restaurants and go for a real Pittsburgh experience.

The food is complimented by the relaxing, friendly atmosphere. It's a place where you can hear the carasoul of musical-genres playing but can still carry on a conversation. The relaxing, jovial atmosphere is matched by the consistent, approachable staff.
And last but certainly not least, there is the brews. An ever-changing array of local and imported microbrews ranking with the finest assortments anywhere.Jerry the owner is the undisputed king of brew acquisition and knowledge.
