I've gone to Fiesta on Main a few times over the past five months so I can confidently say that the high quality of their food is no fluke. The service is wonderful and the owners are great people. I'm from NJ and have been visiting Honesdale for 26 years. This is one of the best restaurants in the area. I spend a lot of time in NEPA (graduated from UofS) and I believe that this is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. I most recently went there on Cinco de Mayo and, as usual, the food was excellent!

My whole family absolutely loves Fiesta on Main! The food is so delicious, fresh, and flavourful! .No greasy-fried pseudo-mexican fare here; you're getting fabulously authentic Mexican. Try the horchata...so refreshing and cinnamon-y! The tacos, burritos, quesodillas, and rice and beans are likely better then you've ever tasted in Northeast PA, but this is a place to order outside your comfort zone. Order something you've never tried! The chile rellenos (say ree-yay-nos) is spectacular, and they have a vegetarian version that is a welcome change from the usual pizza and salad that vegetarians often get saddled with at restaurants! Speaking of salads, Fiesta's are HUGE and loaded with....well, EVERYTHING! For desert, share the fried ice cream; this crowd-pleasing concoction has something for everyone..it's a cold and creamy, warm and crunchy mountian of cinnamon-vanilla-honey madness! The prices are super-reasonable, and they have some weekday specials to give you even more bang for your buck. The staff is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. They have additional seating in the back yard where you can linger and enjoy the weather, and you can even byob to really kick it up a notch! So delish!

Fiesta really deserves 4 1/2 "bubbles", but trip advisor doesn't accommodate 1/2's! The restaurant is very good: lots of nice touches to separate it from the run of the mill taco and enchillada places. Menu is very vell thought-out. A nice selection of seafood; at least some of the items promised to be a bit lighter than traditional Mexican fare. Vegetarian dishes are marked so it makes it easy to find non-meat selections. Flavors were spot on ... but flawed by being just a bit underspiced. For example, I had the carnitas ... lovely pork chunks cooked until they are soft and buttery. But most places use a good amount of spices (not necessarily of the HOT variety), so that they blend with the natural pork juices to form almost a thin sauce. Fiesta's carnitas were beautifully prepared but lacking in any real spice ... nothing to sop up with that last bite of tortilla.

Started with a quesadilla that was nothing special ... a weak point for the restaurant ... redeemed only by the excellent pico de gallo ... brimming with cilantro.

A strong point is the side dishes ... a throw-away in many Mexican restaurants. The rice has pieces of fresh tasting veggies (corn, peppers, etc.) that give the dish a very nice accent. Beans were also better than average.

Desserts sound outrageous, but we passed. Fried banana cheesecake with ice cream and chocolate sauce sounded almost too good to skip. But I saw one being fixed and the chocolate sauce was from an off-the-grocery-shelf squeeze bottle. So, here's a tip "Fiesta": if you are going to have a dessert that elaborate, take the time to make up a little homemade chocolate sauce -- a nice bitter chocolate that will contrast with the other overly sweet elements!

Finally, I can't say enough good things about the staff. They take the time to explain items, offer suggestions, alter dishes to suit one's palate, etc. (The place is small enough that we heard they dealing with other customers and being unfailingly helpful.) They do not currently have a liquor license but gladly accommodate BYOB. And, if you bring your own tequilla, they will happily mix up a great margarita (by the glass or pitcher.)

So, if you happen to be strolling through Honesdale, Fiesta is definitely worth a try.
