I have stayed at the Harvest Inn dozens of times and have never been disappointed! Mary is a fabulous host who is warm and friendly and will always go the extra mile for you. The rooms are spacious and homely. Mary cooks the best breakfast and is extremely flexible with breakfast times! I love staying at the Harvest Inn and cannot wait to spend a number of nights here again this summer. It is very reasonably priced and within walking distance of shops, walmart and local pubs.

It's any B&B owners nightmare to have a full house and have the furnace go out in the middle of the night and have no central heat or hot water for guests. This happened to us-- but it isn't something that would or could happen every day. What apparently IS an everyday situation is down-at-the-heel linoleum in the bathroom with cut-rate molding popping off the walls with nails showing, greasy hand prints on numerous room doors, paint-spashed door knobs, fusty-smelling linen, askew lampshades teetering on energy-saving "curly top" bulbs, and a bedraggled owner who apologized and apologized throughout a large luke-warm breakfast for the lack of central heat and hot water but who apparently was oblivious to the run-down general appearance of the place and lack of cleanliness. Very disappointing-- and, sorry to say, not very hygienic. In the bathroom there is a used zip-loc baggie with a navy wash-cloth labeled in magic marker "use to remove make-up" which actually looks like it has already been used by a previous guest and plopped behind the corroded faucet, just below the paint-chipped shelf. It probably wasn't, but when there is so obviously a lack of attention to detail found through the house (dusty stair carpets in need of vacuuming, a pair of upholstered chairs in the foyer with worn-though holes, etc... who can tell ?Unfortunately, not a place I'd recommend.

Room Tip: To get a good room I'm afraid you'll have to go somewhere else.

I'm a NY based photographer and I've been traveling to Honesdale, PA every year to take pictures of the foliage during the fall, and of the landscape, which is absolutely beautiful around there, and I always stay at the Harvest Inn. Sometimes I travel alone and sometimes with my family.

I love this place, the rooms are very comfortable and clean, and the service is superb. I especially like the breakfast, which is enough for me to keep going for pretty much the whole day.

One of the best advantages of this place is the location. It's just a few blocks away from everything in the town and the neighborhood is beautiful.
The owners are very warm and helpful, and they make me feel like part of my family when I stay. The place is family friendly, which is very important to me. Some of the rooms are big enough to accommodate an entire family.

I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a quiet, comfortable and friendly place.

I hate to write a review that's negative but if you're reading this, you want the truth. The Inn is unclean and the rooms smell old and musty. The sheets on our bed were simply worn out and smelled like they had been washed with old mop water. The pillows were frayed, old and needed to be thrown out several years ago. A most unpleasant experience.

This B&B was perfectly located - close to downtown, and perfect for walking to the music festival. Although there were some small issues with the facilities, the proprietor and her husband made up for any deficiencies. They were friendly and so helpful. We truly felt as if we had been invited into their home and made very welcome. This stay came near the end of a long road trip, and it was a joy to be able to sit on the front porch and relax. Long chats with our hosts and other guests just increased our satisfaction with this establishment. Yes, the front hall could have used vacuuming, but after the first few minutes, we ceased to notice - we just enjoyed ourselves.

This looks like the greatest place to be.....however... it is realy realy dirty. The owners are charming and very welcoming but shortly after arriving there you see on the way up the stairs, you have made a bad choice. There is animal hair everywhere. The rooms are just barely cleaned. The sheets are fine but the rest of the linens are "dirty" yuk.
In the morning it is hard to tell where to go for breakfast ...you arrive is a hallway and doors are all closed off. You are not sure where to go, no one is around....that is not welcoming.
I hope that the owners can just clean it up and it could be a wonderful place. Maybe they could hire someone to help them, it is a big place.

I wanted to enjoy my stay - the inn owners were nice and breakfast was tasty. But the room was dirty and one of the beds was unusable -- sleeping on a spring with no cushion is impossible. Paint was chipping and it was dusty, too. I better find somewhere else stay when I return to one of the local sleepaway camps.
