Very cool and authentic hotel that remains true to its 200 year old history, and is full of stories. Clean room, really friendly staff, great bar/restaurant (gastropub) downstairs. If you want a Hilton, stay there, if you want somewhere interesting, stay here.

My wife and I stayed here in February of 2013 while we were looking at some vacation properties in the Northern Wayne County Area. The restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere and the food was not bad.

The rooms are old, the cast iron heaters were noisy, the sink was in the room and not in the bathroom. The sound proofing was non-existent; you can hear people talking from above, the floors creaked, beds were uncomfortable.

We have revisited their restaurant, however we would not use the overnight services of their hotel.

Although the Hotel Wayne has a nice historic feel, I was extremely disappointed with our stay. The bathroom was small and cramped with no place to put things. Barely could turn around. We were given only one hand towel so we had to ask for more. No coffee pot in the room. No list of television stations or local attractions, restaurants etc. Good thing there was a phone book! There were no extras at all with our stay. Good thing we had dinner at the Bistro because it was the only thing about this hotel that was good. When we left after 3 days, we weren't even asked how our stay was. I won't be staying again. It is the only place in town and this hotel takes advantage of that!

Room Tip: Maybe a suite would be better if you want to pay the price!

My wife and I spent the weekend at the Hotel Wayne while skiing and visiting the area. This is by far the best option in the area. The rooms were spacious, clean, and have a charming historic feel that we really enjoyed. What really set them apart was the Bistro. The staff was amazing, the waitresses were prompt and polite, the manager Mark was professional, and the bartender Wendy was excellent, including her many recommendations for craft beer. The food was well above our expectations for the area, and is easily the best restaurant within a 45 minute drive. Overall we had a wonderful weekend and look forward to our next stay.

Our stay at The Hotel Wayne was great! The décor is very interesting, filled with local and historic art. While admiring the paintings, the hotel manager Jim, noticed our interest and offered us a tour. The rest of the staff were equally hospitable and friendly. Our room was charming, really old fashioned, yet up to date with amenities. We ate dinner at the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. All in all, a very nice place to stay.

This was our second trip to the Hotel Wayne and I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience we had! The hotel itself has the feel of stepping back in time but the rooms are very comfortable and the Bistro is up to par with any urban restaurant. The manager Jim was extremely friendly & helpful with booking our room and gave us a tour as we're amateur "ghost hunters" and interested in the history of the hotel. The dining experience was far beyond our expectations and the bar was well stocked with every variety of beer. George, the bartender ROCKS and his service was impeccable! To put up with a large group of loud ladies with such finesse went above and beyond the call of duty! We are planning another getaway/ghost hunt reunion already for next year because we had such a great time! This place has everything you can ask for a great overnight stay - comfortable beds, great food and drinks, awesome service and the coolest ambience. Forget the resorts and chain hotels and check out the Hotel Wayne for a genuine Poconos experience! Thank you Hotel Wayne!!! :-)

Room Tip: Check out the website or call the manager Jim to get an extra "haunted" room!

Visiting family in the area, needed a place to stay. Hotel Wayne seemed to fit the bill location wise and the historic nature of the place was something I found interesting. Check in was simple and before heading to the room I decided to get a drink in the refurbished bar area. Unexpected variety of beers available and the manager Jim was very knowledgeable as to their origin, was clear he had spent much time putting it together, made for a fun experience.

Was offered help with my bag, declined as I was traveling light. Room was clean and presentable, pretty much what I was expecting and a good value. Decided on dinner in the bar, enjoyed the fried pickles (was recommended to me) as well as the roast half chicken. That with a nice drink was a great way to finish the day. Lively conversation with the manager who is a witty, well traveled guy was fun.

All in all a really nice if short stay, will definitely return next time I'm in the area.
