“Not much attractive”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

If you are in Jinghong and have nothing else to do, just visit for a couple of hours. A daily show of monkeys, elephants and nothing else. The positive point is the Tai Buddhist Pagoda and monestary that worth a visit.

“Don't bother”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

Most of my reviews of attractions within Jinghong/Xishuangbanna have been poor - this park included. Entrance is on the lower end, RMB 40 but don't even waste your money.

As previous reviewers have mentioned, the park is under construction and there is little to see. The only form of excitement was the flying fox across the dirty lake (RMB 20 one way, RMB 30 both ways). There was also a dancing show but only caught the last 5mins so was clueless on what the story was about (note most attractions in Xishuangbanna have some dance ceremony).
There is also an Elephant Show - maybe would have been tolerated in the west in the 80s but they had the two elephants ride a bike, stand on a very small podium and do tricks - the only positive was they looked like they were well fed and not severely mistreated (no noticeable scars/wounds)- I've seen much much worse in other countries.

“Nothing special”
Reviewed 29 January 2014

This park is actually under construction: they want to amply some part and build new facilities. Actually it's worth to see it, if you have time to spend going around the city. In this park the vegetation is a nice example of rainforest, but if you have time to see the real one by trekking, don't bother to come.
Inside there is also a elephant show, which is a real pity and disappointing - not worthy at all!
But on the other side of the park there is an amazing Thai buddhist temple which access is free (and you can access even from the other side of the park without paying the park ticket).
If you cross the park with the purpose to see temple, it is a nice walk across some nice vegetation, otherwise just skip this attraction.

“Expensive but convenient... Good diversity of plant life”
Reviewed 16 January 2014

We came late and missed all the shows - maybe for the better.

Liked: We liked the tropical part of the park near the entrance and the spots on the other side of the lake. It's quite pretty in the afternoon. There seems to be a lot of activities that you can spend an afternoon enjoying, e.g. the flying fox, holding the parrots, elephant and dance shows, etc.

Disliked: The bridge is ugly and there is construction on all sides of the park. The Elephants are held in tiny concrete jail cells and not given enough food and water it seems. They look very unhappy and bored and it put a gigantic damper on the whole park. I get the feeling that it's a tourist attraction more than it is a park or a place to relax. The price is also EXORBITANT.
