“Worth the visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2014

The place was deserted when we stayed also- but that made it all the more intruging! All of the facilities were there for use without having to share - swimming, billiards, karaoke- like being a VIP without the price tag! Sea view rooms have magnificent view in the morning. We arrived from the Myanmar side and unfortunately there is little information about this. There is a ferry every couple of hours from Kawthoung and it is only a 15 minute ride, so access is fairly easy.

There were a few customer service glitches, but the staff are doing their best. But be aware that the resort operates on Thai time -so be careful when you are confirming ferry times- it can be confusing.
Their website is misleading as it advertises snorkelling, but we were told that it is only an option in their busy season. It is also inapropriate and inconvenient that the resort is in Myanmar but takes only Thai currency.
Lastly- head the warning signs about the monkeys- ther really do come into your room if the balcony door is left open!

Room Tip: Sea side rooms have great views.

If peace and quiet is on your agenda then this might be a place you would like. Very strange to see a casino where only 5 people are on the slot machines and you need a membership to go and play cards in the other rooms. We were looking at booking a room overnite, but after looking at the rooms and noting that there was nobody in the restaurants etc, we decided to head back to Ranong to stay there, for a lot less money. Place did look nice, beautiful clean pool , wasn't a soul around it on a nice sunny day. The cost for the ferry ride there and back , and visa stamp was 950 baht. Kind of expensive, but was a nice boat.
Didn't get a chance to go see the golf course, but I would think you likely wouldn't need to book a teetime...

Took a ferry owned by Andaman Club to the resort on the island. It was a quick short journey before you hit the jetty. There will be a chartered van to bring you up to the main entrance of the resort, A quiet and peaceful place to get away from city life.

There is a casino to kill your boredom; cigarettes and imported liquors are available besides the casino.

A decent swimming pool for you if you want to have a dip into the water. The resort offers pretty good spa and massage services to ease off your tension.

It's worth your time to explore this resort.

Room Tip: Request for a room facing the sea with breath-taking view in the morning.

Slow service and no one speaks any English. We ordered a toasted cheese sandwich and juicy beef sandwich. It took 20 min to order, and another 30 min for food to arrive. only two tables were occupied and they send their food back. They should invest in training.

1. Rooms are outdated.
2. Internet connectivity is horrible.
3. Rooms lack plug points for personal electronic gadgets.
4. TV Reception is very poor with limited channels.
5. The Victoria Café had 60% of the food menu as not available - shocking!
6. The Bar had only a choice of 2 Beers although the menu had a listing of many more.
7. Very difficult to communicate with the Staff - they had no or little knowledge of English.
8. My first room was 422 - a bulb was fused. Then had to change room as there was no Wi-Fi connectivity in the room.
9. Had to disconnect 2 lamps in my room so that the plug points could be used to charge my electronic gadgets.

Overall a very poor experience, will not recommend this hotel to anyone. The place surely needs some qood quality Hotels and Operators to make a difference to this hotel.

I was many times at the Andaman Club since 2002 and always liked it!
The big Swimming Pool is same the Sauna deserted and you are most times alone or with few other guests sharing the facilities.
The 24 hour Casino is nice + to in the Thailand strictly NO Casino country!
The views from the Hotel island to other islands and the main land are beautiful.
Sometime I had the feeling a Dinosaur will step out of the -Jurassic Park- island. ;-)

I have no idea why and how this hotel can function. What if I were gonna stay for a week?? There's no ATM?? I had booked a one night stay with expectations of a grand night at the casino. After spending a good amount of money at lunch, dinner and the pool, I was down to about 1000 baht.. Time to hit the Casino. Or not..... The Casino was the reason I came in the first place! And then they're telling me afterwards, that they cannot accept credit cards for anything but the room......... Thanks a lot. Now I'll just sit in my room and wait for tomorrow. Come on!!

The whole idea of this remote resort & casino was awesome.. Too bad things like this should ruin a holiday like it certainly did
