Booking this place was very easy. It was recommended by some friends who had stayed here while on vacation earlier in the year. Our requirements were that we needed a place that was peaceful, quiet, safe and where I could cook some of our meals. This place far exceeded all expectations, especially since it is right on the beach!! Communicating with the owner prior to our arrival was fabulous. As our flight was arriving into Managua at night, and we weren't going to arrive into SJDS until 11 pm, he offered to have coffee, water and some basic food, for our breakfast the next morning, waiting for us. It was great to have arrived and not worry about having to run out to the store first thing upon waking up the next morning.
The property is very secure. We had to show our ID when arriving at the gate. The property manager was waiting for us in the condo and showed us the ins and outs of the unit. There are ceiling fans in every room, air conditioning in every room, a washer/dryer, very comfortable beds, lots of space and very nice bathrooms with hot showers. The furnishings are warm and comfortable with plenty of lighting. The living room is airy and spacious.
The WiFi was surprisingly very fast. The flat screen TV and cable offered English speaking channels. The full kitchen with an array of amenities allowed me to cook the fresh fish and lobster I bought in town. But the nicest part was sitting on the patio, overlooking the bay, enjoying my morning cup of coffee early in the quiet of the morning. My friend's favorite time was having a glass of wine on the balcony at sunset.
Although we didn't use the pool, we walked by it on our way to the beach to walk into town. The pool is beautiful (infinity) with an adjacent jacuzzi. There were people laying around the club house and it did look very appealing, but we had business in town and wanted to enjoy the walk along the beach.
We did eat out in restaurants about half the time. There are some great new ones that we were introduced to that are not along the beach and the prices and quality were great. One day, while in town, we saw a cruise ship that I guess is starting to come into SJDS on a regular basis. One day we had to meet a business associate across the border in Costa Rica. The drive to the border was only 30-40 minutes from the condo so it was very convenient. Transportation via taxi was very easy in both directions.
While there were two of us staying at the condo (both women), there was plenty of room and we each had our own bedroom and bathrooms. We both felt secure and safe. The property manager was available to answer any questions or to offer suggestions - we either called or texted her and she was always there.
We will be staying in this heavenly place, with the most attentive of management, whenever our business takes us to the SJDS area.
