“Best Fishing Trip Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

I recently visited Villa Noche for a quick three day fishing trip on the Aquaholic. What wasn't quick was how long it took me to reel in two huge, strong sailfish. I've never caught sailfish before, but Captain Albaro did a tremendous job. As usual, Memo, Claudia, and Jose Antonio treated me like family. They are truly special people and make Villa Noche one of a kind.

My girlfriends and I celebrated my 40th birthday at Villa Noche and could not have had a better experience! The house is gorgeous and sits on a bluff overlooking the ocean. Walking into the house you are immediately floored by the spectacular views that surround you. There is not a spot in the house where you don't see a beautiful ocean panorama. I stayed in the master suite which was very comfortable and had 180 degree ocean views. Waking up to that view every morning is a memory that won't soon be forgotten.

Memo, Antonio, and Claudia though really took our stay to the next level-we never wanted to leave and rarely did! Memo drove us to a few beaches for sun and sand and also helped us to find good beginner surf spots. The beaches near Villa Noche were surprisingly empty that we felt like we had our own private paradise! After beach time, Memo would drive us back to the villa where we would have a refreshing dip in the infinity pool then lounge on the surrounding deck. This was pretty much our daily routine and it was perfect! Claudia kept us well fed and prepared the most amazing food that we only ventured to town twice to eat. Our favorites were the ceviche and homemade guacamole! (I'm not sure if she's seen 7 women eat so much guacamole!) The fresh fruit every morning was another favorite, as were the banana pancakes, ok, we pretty much loved everything she made!

We all fell in love with Villa Noche, Memo, Claudia and Antonio; thank you for making my birthday unforgettable. We will be back to visit all of you very soon!

Villa Noche, spectacular both “noche” and “dia”, overlooks San Juan del Sur and the Pacific with a 270 degree vista encompassing town, harbor, the mountains of distant Costa Rica, the wide open sea and sunsets, dramatic and varied beyond description. Attended by a friendly, hardworking, yet unobtrusive staff, it is heavenly.

Guests enjoy wonderful breakfasts (our favorite was a combo of Nicaraguan style eggs and gallo, fruit, sometimes augmented by delicious banana pancakes). We arranged for additional lunches and dinners too as we never wanted to leave Villa Noche for long! Prepared by Claudia, chicken and beef dishes were lovely but the fresh seafood, depending on the fresh local market availability was extraordinary. Snapper, lobster, dorado and mahi–mahi all made there star appearances. Nothing can beat Claudia’s freshly prepared ceviche.

We were a family group of three grown children, my husband and I, and a very close friend, Ellen who is always game for a Weaver family adventure. We couldn’t have been a more content group at Villa Noche. Accommodations are lovely with the master bedroom enjoying the same 270-degree views of the first floor. Two other two bedrooms have queen-sized beds and en suite bathrooms. There is one large room that made up a fourth bedroom with a queen size blow-up bed. (If we were to have one little, tiny complaint, this room would be a good space for twin beds, because the boys had to switch off from the blow up bed to various couches on the porch out doors each night.)

Travis, the owner of Villa Noche was tremendously helpful in planning our trip to Nicaragua, airport transfers, stocking the frig, advice on sights. We took him up on his offer of House Manager, Memo, to drive us instead of renting a car and we were so happy we did. Memo is a great driver, everyone knows him and so it is a lot of fun to explore with him. He took us to the beaches, surfing, to the beautiful colonial town of Granada, and back and forth to town. Claudia is a delightful and cheerful soul who took care of our appetites and the needs of New Yorkers who were in need of relaxation. Jose, the right-hand-man was eager to please and was always waiting for us with a smile to open the gate and welcome back to our Nicaraguan palace.

It’s hard for me to give Villa Noche such a glowing review in fear that when we want to return the house will be booked all the time!

My family and I have been fortunate enough to travel to some pretty spectacular places, and the view from Villa Noche is hands down the best we have seen! On top of the scenery, we were treated so well by Memo, Claudi and Jose- we really lived like royalty. We have been back home for over a week and I am still readjusting to normality!

Travis has created a true paradise with the beautiful house and amazing staff to compliment any stay. Would definitely return and recommend Villa Noche to any friend or family.

Villa Noche is a large house outside San Juan del Sur with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. Our family spent most of our time on the deck, which has seats, lounge chairs, a hammock, and a couch; all with fantastic views of the ocean and bay. Mom loved the perfectly prepared margaritas and lobster dinner prepared by the dedicated, complimentary service staff - they also clean the house and can drive you into town. The drive to San Juan del Sur takes 20 minutes and is a bit bumpy - too far to walk, so we advise you to stock up on ice, drinks, and snacks in town before going to the house. You can give the staff a list of things you want for meals and Memo will head into town to get them. The three bedrooms have great views of the town and ocean, and the whole house is spacious and open. We loved Villa Noche and think it's well worth the money.

After reading the reviews for Villa Noche on VRBO and TripAdvisor our expectations were admittedly high. But from the minute we stepped through the door to the day of our departure, those already lofty expectations were consistently met...and exceeded. It's hard to expound on the already stellar reviews, but I'll try to add a few examples from our stay to give you an idea of the type of service you can expect.

The first night, the house manager Memo went into town to buy fresh fish, fruits, and vegetables to create the best ceviche I've ever tasted. We ate as we sipped on fresh margaritas (a recommendation from another reviewer) and watched the sunset over the cliffs as the fishing boats came in for the evening. The view from the Villa stretches down the rocky coastline off the edge of the infinity pool and wraps around to the village below...a truly spectacular panorama. We took many pictures, but it's truly something that must be experienced with the sounds of the Pacific below (and a cold margarita!).

We spent a week each in Leon, Granada, and San Juan Del Sur and had the chance to dine at some great restaurants - both local and international. We unanimously agreed though that Memo's lobster was the best dish we had on the trip...it's really that good.

Claudia keeps the house impeccable and always had a fresh, delicious breakfast and large pot of Nicaraguan coffee waiting for us in the morning. The day before we left she laundered and folded our clothing, an unnecessary touch but just another example of how committed the staff is to making your stay a memorable one.

Travis did a fantastic job of coordinating our trip and offered some great advice on activities around town. If you decide to stay in, there's a small library with a selection of great books. I ended up starting and finishing three during our stay. It was also nice to have a reliable Wi-Fi connection to keep in touch back home and stream the occasional movie on Netflix in the evening.

There are a lot of great properties in San Juan Del Sur and throughout Nicaragua in general. The view, the staff, the food...the experience - Villa Noche was hands down the best decision we made on our trip.

You won't be disappointed with your choice!

I just got back with 4 other girlfriends from San Juan del Sur and we had the most incredible time! Travis' house was so much more than we could have ever hoped for. The pictures do NOT do it justice. The pool is amazing, its HUGE! The beds are so comfortable. There is tons of space during the day, if you want shade there is an outdoor couch, if you want to be in the sun there are MASSIVE sunbeds! The views are breathtaking. It has one of the best sunsets i have ever seen! Travis was super accomoodating and was easy to get in touch with to answer any questions we had before we left. The best part were the people that worked at the house, they were so kind and accommodating. You must ask Memo to make the ceviche, it is heavenly! I can hardly wait to go back again!

Room Tip: There are 3 rooms, the master bedroom is by far the best, so you will have to draw straws to decide...
