“Absolute Perfection!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2011

It was our first time in Nicaragua, we were exploring SJDS as a posible retirement location. As such, we decided to stay with Steve and Yaz because their website explained that they were American expats who retired to SJDS. We thought it would be the perfect way to learn about the area instead of staying at a tourist hotel. BOY was that a great decision! Their home is spectacular, the garden is the best in all SJDS, the view is BREATHTAKING, the room was luxurious, the staff friendly,The home is located within walking distance to town, but a taxi ride is easy and under $2.00, no need to rent a car, but most of all, the hosts became dear friends. We didnt feel like paying guests, we felt like old friends. They showed us around, introduced us to the community and the way of life there (they even threw me an impromptu birthday party when they heard it was my birthday!).
We will be moving to SJDS one day, as we have fallen in love with the area, and we look forward to becoming part of the community. What a wonderful way to vacation, we are thrilled at our decision to stay with Steve and Yaz at Las Palmas!

We recently stayed at this lovely home in the hills of San Juan Del Sur. Our hosts, Steve and Jasmine were very hospitable and we really enjoyed their company. The service was great and our room was very comfortable. The views from the property were incredible and the pool was a delight. Highly recommended.

We had a great time. The best room in the house has a gorgeous view of the bay of San Juan del Sur, It is spacious with a large TV and surround sound. Very comfortable bed. You have the run of the house. The pool is great to hang out in. I was even able to sit in the pool and use my netbook because they have a sitting area with a built in table. Nice garden. Steve and Yasmine as really nice and very interesting people. We enjoyed our time with them and even went out for dinner with them and had a great time. That was the first we spend "our" time with someone who provided us accommodations. We've been to a lot of places. It is walkable to town, though it is on a hill so going back will be a little tougher. Breakfast was good. They will provide you with transportation for the price a taxi will charge. having your own car is helpful, but not essential. The hosts are flexible, helpful, knowledgeable, and a delight to hang out with. Good restaurant suggestions. It was like staying at a friend's house, (though you do need to pay). Just a lovely time.Glad we did it.

Steve and Jasmine were like insta friends within the first 24 hours of our stay and by the end of our vacation they felt like family! Very friendly, considerate, and hospitable service at its finest!! Both Steve and Jasmine are very knowledgable of Nicaragua and more than willing to help you find your way around. Their Bed and breakfast has the best view of san juan del sur available... and that's not an exaggeration!!!! Sitting in the pool looking out over the bay after a laid back day filled of surfing, zip lines, and fishing vacation doesn't get any better than this.. oh ya and Jasmine is an amazing cook!! We would highly recommend staying at Las Palmas to any one who wants to be near the nightlife of san juan but yet far enough up the hill to enjoy privacy, peace and quiet, and the beauty of Nicaragua! We are getting ready to book our next stay with them a year in advance...
Note: Steve and JAsmines Las Palmas B&B is in high demand and they frequently turn people away because they are booked...so if you want to book with them don't hesitate and book in advance if you can. We don't have any negative comments to say about LAs Palmas. The only thing we experienced was a few power outages, but this was a power outage of all of san juan del sur. San juan was doing maintenance during our stay so this is not something that happens all of the time..but it can happen! The good news is Las palmas has a great pool and an indoor outdoor setting so you can stay cool! One of our best vacations ever!

Room Tip: We stayed in the second story Master and would highly recommend it..Well worth the extra 30 dollars

I have booked my stay with at least 10 places based purely off of the reviews on Trip Advisor. Every time has been a success - clean rooms, decent prices, great locations, etc. My stay at Las Palmas is the best thus far. Aside from the beautiful location, wonderful food, great pool, clean and comfortable accommodations, and great dogs, we now have to add in the amazing owners - Steve & Yasmine. My group and I felt as if we were staying with friends or relatives. I have yet to feel more comfortable in a location. I looked forward to my conversations with them out on the patio while drinking coffee. They are amazing people and there is no way these words will be able to express our gratitude to them. Please note that if you are not in the mood to socialize, you probably won't even know they are there, though you'll be missing out on one of the best parts of Las Palmas. Steve & Yasmine are very laid back, funny, and knowledgeable. I'd stay here again in a second. Miss you guys!

The personal service from both Steve and Yasmine was excellent. They anticipated our every need and had suggestions for all of our travel requests. Our room was fab with a million dollar view from the king size suite on the top floor. Because the B&B is located a few kilometers out of San Juan del Sur there was peace and tranquility day and night. Dips into the resort style pool at least 2x daily were wonderful..totally relaxing before and after touring. The thing we liked the best was the reasonable rate for so many amenities (Did I mention that Yasmine serves delicious food, especially the Nacatamale!). The thing we like least was having to leave. You won't find any place close to this in SJDS.

Room Tip: Book early for the King Suite for most comfortable bed!

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Steve and Jasmin are so kind, welcoming, and friendly; they and their staff did everything possible to make my stay perfect. It is an incredibly peaceful and tranquil place, with a beautiful view of the town and ocean. I loved staying there and would love to stay there again if I come back to San Juan del Sur!
