We were staying in this hotel for one night as part of an escorted tour. We only arrived at 3pm - I had a massage at the hotel (booked at Gaby's Spa) and then we went for dinner before our turtle tour so we were not at the hotel for that long. The room was clean but a bit cramped with not a lot of room for our cases. The included breakfast across the road was the choice of 4 different breakfast options we had in all hotels in Nicaragua. Very nice and we were able to buy drinks for our onward journey.

Our original room got puddles on the floor after it rained. Asked for another room, there were plenty. Waited for about 15 minutes and went downstairs . The guy said the owner didn't answer her phone. He did not have the athority to give another room. Gave him 5 minutes or I was leaving. Got another room. The walls had dried on runs of some liquid running down them. Coffee maker but no coffee, one cup. Just dirty. Wifi didn't work the whole time even though they said it did for a while. Probably not their fault as the cable was out. Not very helpful staff, if you could find the staff. $86. WAY overpriced. Good location, not loud but on the Main Street. Go someplace else. Plenty to choose from.

motel like rooms with no services or pool in the hotel, adequate for a short stay. Close to the beach, street parking. Rooms face the street so you may hear late night partying on the street. The room had air conditioning and a bathroom fan that didn't work.

The best thing this hotel has going for it is its location right across the street from the beach. Everything else was a huge let down. The rooms are large but dingy and remind me of places that run about $50 a night. They should basically just drain the pool because I'm pretty sure it's a health hazard. The random objects floating throughout were a clear indication of that. For a hotel at this price point, the service was poor. Every time we were in the lobby, we observed guests complaining for one reason or another to a very unapologetic staff. Our check-in process wasn't bad, but by no means welcoming. The breakfast was gross....half cooked eggs, stale gallo pinto, and curdling milk in my coffee. We basically left it on the table and went down to Iguana to have an edible meal. This place is to be avoided!!! For what's being offered here, you can pay about half the price and at least you'd be "getting what you paid for". On the other hand if you spend about $30 bucks more, there are luxury options on the other end of the strip.

In early March we stayed at La Estacion for our first three days in San Juan Del Sur. Luckily we were given one of the front rooms with a balcony overlooking the beach and the main street which is full of restaurants and a few shops. Everyone at La Estacion was extremely helpful and nice! Our room was just what we expected and we really liked having the french doors that opened to the balcony. Of course the showers can be a little cold depending on the time of day you'd like a shower, but we soon figured out that since it's pretty hot outside this was ok with us! One of the nights we experienced some of the loud karaoke that other reviews warned about. Our ceiling fan/air conditioner helped cover some of the sound and it ended around 11pm. Overall, we'd stay here again. The employees were great and we felt very safe at the hotel. It was fun to know some of the hotels history and be in such a good location, close to most things in San Juan Del Sur.

Room Tip: Best views are on the third floor, but a little noisy at times. Helps to know some Spanish.
