I think this is the nicest hotel in town. Clean, modern decor, tasteful beach front style. The staff is the friendliest and the service was always top notch. We had room 5 with an ocean view. Nice bathroom, good shower, ample closet space. We had someone from the hotel pick us up in Managua at the airport and it was so smooth and easy. Absolutely recommend!

P.S. The restaurant across the street has the best Arroz de Marisco in town

An oceanfront room is a must....just stunning, The staff is helpful and accomodating. If you are staying on the beach, this is the most elegant by far. You may hear some music from the beach front parties, but it didn't keep us awake at all.

Room Tip: Oceanfront...you might not want to leave your room

we stayed 3 nights over the weekend . We had the roof top room (number 7th) with a pretty large balcony overlooking the sea. The noise from the discoteques was'nt so loud and we slept well.
the best in the hotel is the staff that come out of their way to make you feel great. Daniel was the multitasking guy that helped with everything. the best is the location, cross the street and you are at the beach and in the middle of all the action. We had the best time.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the sea with the balcony, if you are planning to be over the weekend choose 7 that...

We recently stayed for 2 nights on at the Hotel Alcazar and overall, had a pleasant experience. The hotel is one of the newer (and much nicer) hotels on the main beach road, and is equipped with a small pool, new bar and nice sized rooms. We were placed in the sole room on the top floor which comes with a HUGE oceanview balcony (almost the equivalent size of the room). Here are a few pros and cons of our stay:

Pros:
The rooms are nice size, all the furniture is new (as the hotel was recently redesigned under the new owner).
The staff were all extremely helpful and cordial. Great service overall.
Location - it is in the middle of the beach with immediate access to all the beachfront restaurants, stores and even an ice cream shop.
Free breakfast consisting of fruit, banana bread, coffee/tea, and juice

Con:
I really only have one issue with the hotel, its neighbor. There is a hostel/bar next store that stays open until the wee hours of the morning (5am our first night, 3pm the 2nd) and the music is obnoxiously loud. It sounded as if our room was inside the club. Our friends who were on the 3rd floor, set they could hear the music as well but not nearly as bad as we had it. That said, the hotel provides earplugs and we used the portable fan in the closet to drown out the noise. Also, if I were a few years younger, I would have been inside that club instead of complaining about it.

Overall, I'd still recommend this hotel to anyone going, it was a great experience, safe, and good value for the money.

NB: We met an owner, Roger, at the grand opening for their lobby bar. He was very nice, offered some great insight to the town and even prefaced the sound issues with the neighbor so we weren't surprised that night.

Room Tip: Stick to the 2nd and 3rd floors if you want a decent view and a better night sleep. For those partak...

The hotel is wonderful, the rooms spacious and comfortable. The staff is great. If this heater was in a different lactation it would be perfect. During the week it is quiet but come Thursday-Saturday it is right in next to a VERY loud club. When we made the reservation they warned us, I could not imagine that I would feel as if I was in the club. For that reason I would never stay here again. It is a shame because I really like everything about the hotel.

Room Tip: If you can not stand club music don't stay here. The sleep quality is bad because of the music...

This hotel is excellent; however, it's a shame it's located adjacent to a club and bar where the music is almost unbearable on weekend nights. We would certainly stay here again, but only Mon-Thur nights. I'm surprised that local zoning laws allow for the proximity of a club right next to a hotel where people sleep at night.

If you have no issue with loud music at night, and wish to otherwise enjoy the comforts of an excellent boutique hotel right across from the beach, then this is the place for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay; the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were very neat and clean with all modern amenities, located centrally to popular establishments in San Juan del Sur.

Room Tip: We rated the sleep quality as "terrible" due to loud music during the weekends.
