What we loved about El Bocadito was the variety of dishes they had to offer. Everything from filet mignon with pineapple salsa to blue cheese spread. The dishes were flavorful and creative. Some we liked better than others - but mostly due to personal preferences. There were a number of nice but not terribly expensive wines which is somewhat unusual for this surfer town where beer rules.
They were a bit challenged with our order - as there were four of us and we wanted to taste each of the dishes. So we asked for "cuatro" (4) of each dish. Unfortunately only three arrived because that is the standard serving size. Moreover we ordered 8 dishes all of which showed up at the same time. What we had in mind was that one dish would show up at a time allowing us to enjoy each one as it came. It was clear the owner realized he had a problem and worked to correct it. And in fact it became very clear that the owner really cared about his customers and wanted us to be happy. I'd be willing to bet that he coached the staff to fix it next time - which is really all you can hope for.
We would gladly eat there again.
