Beautiful property and very hospitable family. We stayed on our way back to southern Italy from Germany and it was a nice place to stop and recharge. Will definitely make a point of staying here for our Tuscany trip. They cook a dinner meal for the guests you can partake in for an extra charge which was totally worth it. Also the complementary breakfast was delicious.

I have to start by saying we extensively researched B & B's in Tuscany and had 4 narrowed down. We ended up deciding on Podere Benintendi because -- from the pictures, the view from the pool was outstanding. This place exceeded our expectations. The second we arrived, I knew we made the right choice.

The breakfast reception room is so welcoming with comfy chairs and a couch by a nice little fireplace. The windows are massive and allows for a great view. The breakfast was amazing, especially the eggs. The hosts go out of their way to get you whatever you need. Even on one morning, when the breakfast room seemed busier than usual, it was never longer than 30 seconds we waited and were promptly brought a beautiful espresso and asked how we wanted our eggs.

Our room was wonderful. Super clean and cozy bed. We changed rooms after 2 nights -- which I knew we had to do -- down to a bottom floor walk out apartment and it too was fabulous. I would say one of the highlights of this place however, is the pool. Once you get into one of the loungers, and take in the view -- you will want to spend your entire day there! We got spoiled and had it all to ourselves for 2 straight days. I can't tell you how relaxing it is to lay back and sip a cool glass of white wine in the Tuscany sun and take in that view. Pure heaven people:)

There is also a gym, which we used every morning for 20 min or so. Nothing extravagant, but had everything you needed to get a little workout in and burn off some pasta. Also downstairs in their walkout basement area of house is the wine cellar and a fridge full of wine, beer and water. When you want a drink, you take what you want -- and mark it down on a sheet! Love it! It was so great. And oh -- there's also a washing machine available for guests, which for us was a huge bonus. Did 3 loads the first day we arrived.

We did their home cooked meal one night instead of going out, and it was one of our most memorable on our entire Italy vacation. Also, we LOVED Navi and Anita (dog and cat)....the official greeters of the B and B. A few times Navi would walk by our door with her tail wagging, so we'd invite her in and she'd lay at our feet! So sweet!

Podere Benintendi is only a 5 min drive to Old Certaldo where the castle and great food is....and is centrally located to scoot around Tuscany for day trips. Stay at this B & B while in Tuscany. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: From what we could see all rooms had great views

My mom, sister and I stayed 6 nights in the Galileo apartment. Check in and out went smoothly. I never caught the name of the staff, but the younger lady who spoke the best English, as well as female owner, whose English was good enough, were both friendly and helpful. They gave us a map of Certaldo and marked the supermarkets and train station parking lot on it for us.

Our apartment was great for our needs. The bed on the main floor (I think it was a futon) wasn't as comfortable as the bed in the loft, but it wasn't terrible. Since the Galileo apartment is on the 2nd floor, it didn't have a patio like the other apartments, but there was a small veranda with a bistro table and 3 chairs just down the stairs that we claimed as ours. Maybe it was and we just didn't know it!

There is an "honor store" in the basement, allowing you to buy drinks, snacks, or wine by taking what you need and marking it down in the log book. This gets added to your bill at checkout. We did 1 load of laundry, which was a nice amenity to have, allowing us to pack lighter. We sat by the pool a few times. Loved that the pool chairs have a special visor/shield for your head!

The grounds are beautiful, with 360 degree views of the countryside as you walk around the building. There are a few quiet places tucked away on the property with benches or swings.

Meals are offered at the property, which we arranged for our final night there. We ended up eating on the owners patio because it was in the shade. We had pecorino cheese and different crostini to start, followed by a pasta fresca. The whole meal was wonderful and it was a relaxing way to spend our last evening. I believe the meal was 12E each, definitely worth it. You can order different combinations of the antipasto/pasta/secondo and maybe dessert. There wasn't a menu, it was sort of a chef's surprise.

Free wifi is available near the reception area. We could sometimes connect to it in our apartment, but the signal was not always great. Most guests sat on the patio outside the reception area in the evenings, connecting with iPads or phones. The signal there was fine.

Overall, we loved out stay here and would recommend it to others. Can't wait to go back someday.

We spent just short of a week in a 1 bedroom apartment, with our little toddler.

We were barely greeted to the villa (very far from a courteous "let us know if you need something").

The apartment had a foul odor and suffered from piping/plumbing noises from the apartment above. The closets were not inviting to say the least and we never unpacked our luggage into them but used alternative surfaces. The sofa was barely usable for a single person (and we are very thin...). A kettle would have been nice (rather than a dirty old coffee pot).

On the plus side: the villa is located on a wonderful hill, with San Gimignano visible in the horizon. Multiple "relaxation" areas are located around the perimeter alongside a pond with ducks. Certaldo (the village just below the villa) is ideally located for a star-shaped trip in Tuscany.

Also, breakfast was very good and very decently priced.

Room Tip: Top floor maybe? A larger sofa?

Wow! I cannot wait to go back to this place. The building and property was stunning! The rooms were beautifully decorated and truly made you feel like you were in Tuscany. Everything was clean and comfortable. The outside area around the B&B was very nice as well, with lots of sitting areas and gorgeous views of the surrounding hills. I absolutely loved everything about this B&B, including the cat and dog that live there.

This is my second time to the Tuscany area and I must say that this Bed & Breakfeast took the cake out of all of the hotels I have ever stayed in Europe...

It is perched on top of a hill that gives you a 360 degree unobstructed wonderful view of Tuscany. It is also centrally located between Florence, Pisa, and all the walled cities.

The staff was nothing short of fantastic. From check in to check out, they were never to busy to help with directions, information, and delicious dinner meals.

Would defiantly stay here again on my next stay..

This villa offered everything we were looking for, super location, excellent rooms and personal service. It's located on the top of a hill overlooking the Tuscany countryside and has easy access to all the normal attractions. Excellent choice.

Room Tip: All the rooms we inspected had nice amenities and a good view.
