Great place to stay. Great Ambience, very friendly professional staff and fab food. I stayed in the single room which was cosy to say the least but had everything I needed and more. Dinner was excellent and breakfast too.

We went there for a meal with our friends – group of 5. Reception and service was excellent. Food was beautiful. I will start with starters – must try: chicken liver parfait – heaven in your mouth, slow roast pork belly – mmmmmm….. Main must try: fish – any kind of fish in this restaurant is perfectly cooked; eye steak is just melting in your mouth – very well cooked to your liking. Obviously the cook knows what he is doing. As my boyfriend has a birthday coming we have booked other restaurant in Leeds, but after a meal which we had in this restaurant we changed our reservation and going back for fantastic food to Black Horse again :-) Cannot wait now!!

Room Tip: Choose any table you want - it is spot on place for food

First, had a 3 course meal in the restaurant, which was exceptional. The chef and his staff did an amazing job and need to be complimented. The food really was fantastic and could not find fault. Pam was very helpful in reception on arrival.

Unfortunately, cannot say the same for the accommodation. Booked a Travelzoo deal for one night, paying a supplement as it was a Saturday. The supplement was for a superior room on the first floor opposite the Inn. If that was superior I would hate to see the standard rooms. It was dire. I know it is an Inn but it was so dated. We have stayed in many Inns before which are very modern inside and period outside. The room looked as though it was trying to be both contemporary and traditional and it just did not work and made it look tacky.

Bathroom looked as though it might have been revamped quite recently. Usual toiletries supplied. Heated towel rail, fluffy towels and dressing gowns.

Whole milk with the tea/coffee, who drinks whole milk in this day and age? Thank you Pam for getting me skimmed milk in a jug.

Pillows not covered with pillow protectors, very unhygenic. Carpets dirty. You had to crawl on the floor to plug in the hairdryer. Downlighter bulb not working by the window, bad housekeeping.

Breakfast was ok. It was busy and lacked staff. Only 2 young ladies working even though all the tables were full. There was a fairly good choice. We were informed when we booked we would have Bucks Fizz with our breakfast which did not materalise. Still we did not bother asking as champagne does not go with carton orange juice!

Room Tip: Not a superior!

We have just returned from a two night stay at The Black Horse and cannot fault the staff, the food or the Inn facilities at all. It is a great place to stay with many lovely places to visit around it, which the staff are more than happy to advise on. We made a return trip to Hebden Bridge (we always like to have a wander around this lovely place and take a walk in the surrounding counrtyside) and also went to Saltaire for the first time, which is well worth the short drive north. I would fully recommend visiting both these places.

We stayed in one of the 'Champagne' rooms which was nicely decorated and very clean. We ate at The Inn on the first evening and had fantastic food from the set menu. The breakfast on both mornings was lovely; plenty of choice and hot food cooked to order, washed down nicely with the Bucks Fizz included in the Travelzoo offer :) The owners definitely show attention to detail and ensure that their lovely staff do too.

Overall, it was a fantastic stay and excellent value for money. We definitely intend to return.

We used a Travelzoo voucher and we then extended our stay. The location is excellent, the food super and the staff delightful.
We were using public transport but on Sunday, when the bus service was quite limited, we took a taxi to Brighouse Station and the fare was only £3.50.
We hope to come again soon!

We stayed as part of a Travelzoo deal and what good value!. We stayed in the accommodation over the road in the Laurent Perrier room which although not huge had everything we needed, comfy bed, spotless bathroom with all the little extras such as shampoo etc. We found all the staff to be so welcoming and in particular the two youngsters working hard in the restaurant, Damien and his female partner and nothing was any trouble. Food was fine although not as wonderful as we had expected with some reviews, maybe our expectations were a little high.
The welcome at breakfast was lovely and we were made to feel we had a personal welcome from the lovely couple, nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful fresh fruits and cooked breakfasts with a variety of breads toasted with a lovely choice of little jars of preserves. Lovely fresh juice, tea and fresh coffee, croissants could be ordered and served warm if required. From the reception smiles through to the pleasant cleaning lady there was a warm welcome here, for a few minutes off the motorway this is a peaceful place. Only negative with our room (Laurent Perrier)is that it is next to the main entrance block to the Champagne house and you are disturbed with the front door as people come and go but as this did not go on too late or too early we were ok with it. Well done to all the staff!
