We absolutely LOVED this cottage. We've visited Heptonstall numerous times and always wanted to stay here; we're so pleased we finally did. Cottage warm, cosy, incredibly well-equipped and beautifully decorated. We visited as a family, with two teenage daughters, and we found it roomy enough for all of us. It was set between two lovely, friendly pubs which serve great food. Heptonstall itself is stunning, and has such a vast amount of history attached. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage, and will definitely be returning.
Really lovely cottage in a beautiful place. Everything you could want in the cottage and from the village. Couple of great pubs that did great food within a minute walk. Will definately return.
Very nice, well equipped, period cottage. We stayed from Friday - Monday with 2 friends. Had a great time. Lots of beautiful walks "on the doorstep". Hebden Bridge a couple of miles away. Brilliant old church in Heptonstall. Walked, ate, watched films, created giant bubbles (pop up performance in the old church). Had a great time. Highly recommended.
Many thanks to Cathy (owner).
Lovely cottage in the beautiful setting of Heptonstall. Everything is spotless and well-maintained. All you need for a comfortable stay is here. The kitchen is spacious for self-catering and dining, but if you want to eat out would highly recommend the White Lion for good food, quiz nights and the friendliness of the locals. Also the tea rooms which do an excellent breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome wherever we went. The walk down to Hebden Bridge is fine but I wouldn't attempt to walk back up! However, there is a very regular bus service right into the centre of the village. We will would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing break.
Had the most amazing stay in Swanfold. The attention to detail in the cottage was lovely. I have stayed in many cottages over the years, and this is definitely my favourite! Lovely owner, communication was fantastic. Really didn't want to leave.
This delightful cottage in Heptonstall is the ideal spot to explore the Calder valley area.
The cottage itself is stunning! Situated in a tranquil courtyard with friendly neighbours. Inside it only gets better, decorated and furnished to a very high standard and well maintained it exceeded our already high expectations. Originally we had been looking for a base in Hebden but were pleased we found Swanfold in Heptonstall instead.
Hebden Bridge is easy to get to from the village, and after the hustle and bustle of the larger and popular town down the hill it was great to come back up the hill to the peace and tranquillity of Heptonstall. What's more there are so many stunning walks on your doorstep our 3 days weren't long enough.
Swanfold really was a home from home, equipped with everything we needed and what's more is situated between the villages two pubs, both pubs served decent food till 8.30 and had a good range of cask ales.
There are no negatives to this properly, everything from the initial enquiry to the owners through to the booking was handled in a professional and friendly manner. We would definitely book again and explore more of this beautiful part of Yorkshire.
