I've eaten here a few times; generally the food is very nice, however I've noticed that the standard menu hasn't really changed for about two years which means options become limited if you want to try something new. Service is usually okay but can be slow. Latest visit was a bit of a disaster - had to ask 3 times for a chair so we could sit outside, and had to ask twice for a drink. The waitress was very apologetic but when added to a drawn out wait for food it meant the overall experience was somewhat lacklustre.

Booked a table for 4 evening meals. Cafe is in a lovely old building in the centre of Hebden Bridge. Nice selection of starters (£5) and main courses (£10). We brought our own wine and they don't charge any 'corkage' fees, which is nice. The food was good without being great, portions adequate without being filling. I had the broccoli and Wensleydale tart with a potato side salad and leaves. Service was OK but we had to ask for salt and pepper and then found there was no pepper in the mill so had to ask for pepper again, which is pretty basic stuff to get right. A jug of tap water was lukewarm, no ice. Overall, good but could be better.

Lovely little café with a wide range of food, the staff are very helpful and the food is reasonably priced. It is located off the main street but is well worth a visit.

This is our second trip to Hebden Bridge but though we passed this place the first time and liked the menu, we ended up eating elsewhere which was ok but average. This time we planned to stop here and after checking out the reviews knew we had to give it a go. Me and my husband are meat eaters but my mum in law is vegetarian so a big draw was that she could have lunch and have a choice of what to eat. We weren't disappointed: husband had Spanish chickpea casserole with rice and we had cauliflower and dill soup with cheese/chutney sandwiches. All fab quality: soup clearly homemade, nice bread, strong cheese. So many places get these basics wrong! 2 teas (one of which was rose scented) and a hot chocolate finished us off. Overall excellent value, friendly staff and lovely food. Try it!
