“Typical Travelodge”
Reviewed 9 December 2013

My wife had never seen Stonehenge, so on a trip up to london we decided to break our journey and spend the night there.
The staff were great and very helpful.
Unfortunately this travelodge has not had the advantage of the latest upgrades, so it was without the benefit of an in situ bar/cafe, although there is a Little Chef/Burger King on the site.
The rooms are clean and have all the basics.
We did go into the town of Amesbury which has several pubs and cafes so is worth a visit.

Stayed here because it was a quick and cheap stopover after visiting Stonehenge. It's exactly what it was...quick and cheap. Toilet was very dirty and shower wasn't much better. Took a good 5 minutes for the water to run hot in the shower. Had to make our own bed (third bed wasn't made and staff just "delivered" linen and said "here you go"). No free wifi and has ridiculous rates of £5 for one hour or £10 for a day! The only saving grace was the Little Chef next door where we had a nice meal. Would travel a little further to the Holiday Inn.

We are very sorry to learn of your disappointing stay at our Amesbury Stonehenge Travelodge Rachel P. We would expect all rooms and bathrooms to be cleaned to a specific high standard and all beds prepared before they are allocated to guests. Been recently renovated, nice rooms, comfortable bed, good location, although GPS had trouble finding it. Good for Salisbury and Andover, 10 miles from friends, will defiantly go again, and recommend it.

Nice enough at a bargain price and decent car park as well which was essential. Pullout bed in the twin/family room option appears to have a mattress made of iron, but bedding was all clean. Bath was tiny. It was very quiet though.

Stayed for one night, arriving 9 p.m. and leaving less than 12 hours later, an overnight stop to break a journey from London to the West Country. All comments take account of the fact that the room cost just £31 on an advance booking. Check-in was quick and easy. The room had everything expected and was clean apart from the shower curtain being due for a change - reported on checking out. Bed was comfortable, and linen clean. Loud noise from the loo plumbing for a few seconds after flushing, also reported on checking out. Check out also efficient, and I felt that the points I reported were being noted seriously. Breakfast in the Little Chef just across the car park was presented and served well.

Is this place the Ritz? Of course not, but it does provide great value for money if you just need a bed for the night.

Receptionist was scruffy, shirt and tshirt not tucked in. Check in smooth and easy. Room was basic , a comfortable double bed, good tv. However extremely dusty picture frames thick with dust as was the headboard. Shower grubby and limescale more than I would expect. Part missing from shower and grime settling inside.

Not sure where the refurb had been but was definitely not in our room.

Ok for a stop over.

The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We never saw many staff but the young man on reception was helpful on arrival. The only down side to our stay was a lack of hot water, there was no hot water in the morning.
